  • The future of River County's site?

I know River County has been closed for about 5 years now, but I was wondering if anyone has heard anything about any future developement of the location. I know it is not returning as a water park again and have heard that it has been demolished.

Also if anyone has any pics and/or memories to share feel free to post those as well, I have never been there but always wanted to go.

There are rumours that it will be refurbished to act as a large themed swimming pool/water area between Fort Wildnerness and a new hotel resort between the Magic Kingdom and Bay Lake, much like Stormalong Bay is for... oh God, I forget the name of that posh hotel near the Boardwalk.

I doubt anything much will happen with it. That lake water is absolutely disgusting.

You can find some current pictures here.

BTW, it's River Country, not county.
