Nice report, thanks! Someday I'll do some of the tours, we just never allow enough time for them.

You got to see the AA scene changer? Nice. That thing is on railroad tracks it is so huge...that would be so cool to see.

Cool, thanks for the link, and it looks like you got a nice find on that vase, as the web site says that arrangement is exclusive to DVC members.

I don't think this tour ruined the "magic" for me. It made me appreciate it even more, knowing all the work that goes into making the "magic."

Oh I think it would only enhance it for me. I also think it would make me appreciate all the effort you go through to make the day seem effortless.

What a great experience, I will have to add it to my list of things to do when I have some spare money.

Alright. It's all good. I was'nt trying to bash the backstage tour. I felt that it just spoiled the magic for people..you know? I mean noone really knows how David Copperfield or David Blaine showing off there magic illusion secrets. I love that kind of mystery. Especially in my old department where i worked (entertainment/ costume character) I loved the rush and how we were the mystery performers, the guests never would know who we were.
But I completely understand and totally appreciate and respect how you have a better understanding what the cast members do day in and day out.

Summer: You gotta do the tour! I know you'll love it. It includes a great lunch, and you can always sell the exclusive tour pin on e-bay to make some money back ... LOL!

And the tour is not just about characters and costumes ... for example, no one thinks what happens to the Holiday decorations the rest of the year. It's gotta go somewhere and be taken care of. Quite a job!

I've never done the tour..but my dance studio and i danced at WDW last summer and in order to get to the stage you had to go behind the scenes. and yea nothing was explained or pointed out but what caught my attention was the parade floats. These floats are gorgeous at night right? During the day when they aren't lit up they just look pastel and so beautiful. They're design was really cool to see. just thought id mention that

But then there's Penn & Teller, who show the secrets behind their tricks (and other people's tricks) all the time, and people still think they're great.

                          Different strokes for different folks.

It was interesting to read about your tour. My sister and I took the tour (I think with Nancy, even!) a couple years back. They had JUST added the florist to the tour when we went. We also got to see Body Wars from below the ride vehicles - those things MOVE! and the parade barn. I'm not surprised they took Body Wars off the tour route (considering the pavillion is closed!) - but I am surprised you didn't get to see the float barn.

Summer, you would really like it, I think!
