  • Mall at Millenia

Surprisingly enough, in all the times I've been to Florida I have never been to the Mall at Millenia. It seems easy enough to get to, but I thought I would like MiceChatter opinions before I blackmail my dad into taking me this October. Usually we stick to the Orlando Premium Outlets and the Florida Mall, but the Mall at Millenia looks very classy and expensive just my style - especially as I have worked so so hard to earn plenty of spending money this year, and I wanna spend it on nice things. Aside from Disney pins

    So... reviews, opinions, suggestions?

    Re: Mall at Millenia

Mall of Millenia is a bit nicer and classier than most other malls in the area. It is also the gayest place to shop in town, meaning...lots of gay patrons there. Millenia is not that big a place, but it has a nice selection of stores...Bloomingdale's, Macy*s, Cartier, Tiffany's, etc... Some nice places to eat such as McCormick's and Cheesecake Factory, and many other facilties to enjoy. The mall feautures a dome-like interior corridor with glass ceiling, allowing plenty of sunlight to filter in...which gives the indoor corridor a very outdoorsy feel.
Around Millenia, there are other things to do... SuperTarget, BJ's, to name a few... Olive Garden, Mimi's Cafe... etc etc.
It only takes 2 minutes to drive into Mall of Millenia from Universal Studios, just go north I4 and you'll be there in no time.

As for the Outlets malls.... TRASH! Skip like a plague. They are tourist traps (the British in particular fall head over heels here and we locals are trying to figure out what the allure is...)

You're not missing too much if you don't go there. I have been maybe 3 times and remain unimpressed, yes it is a nice looking mall, that is probably the best mall in the area, with some nice stores but not necessarily a must see. I don't know how many large malls are available to you but the Mall at Millenia doesn't offer anything unique that I don't see nearly daily here.

Also last time I was there I noticed a lot of vacant store fronts and little foot traffic to justify yet another large shopping area. Though it wasn't nearly as sad as the Festival Bay mall which is also new and looked like a ghost town.

I agree with Disney Magic. After all, we locals deserve a quiet, tourist-free, spot to shop and dine you know...

Well anyway, I asked for your honest opinions and I got it and now I'm not so sure about the place. Oh, and TDLFAN, what's attractive about the Orlando Premium Outlets? Well off the top of my head... cheap clothes, expensive brands!

Maybe you should go to the Mall of Millenia... The outlets are crap and fool you into believing they offer the best deals out there, and you tourists fall for it all the time. You can find name brand clothing at cheaper prices over some of the tennants in the Outlet at Millenia's Macy*s. I know I have and I like to be as cheap as the UK tourists as well.

I have not been to the International Mall in Tampa so I can't compare, but the Mall of Millenia is similar, but nicer, than the one in Brandon...(or Branson?) east of Tampa.

Again I must agree with TDLFAN the outlets often fool people into thinking they are getting tremendous deals when often times you aren't. There are lots of "outlet malls" in the US but many times you can buy the same items for the same prices at any store. I usually do stop at the Premium Outlet in Orlando and prefer it over the Belz, (not sure if I spelled that right) but still it is the exact same chain of outlet malls as the one here in Wrentham, MA (with most of the same stores) The only benefit to the one in Orlando is the Character Premiere store which can be very hit or miss.

Now Belz is just plain gross. What a palace of tack.

Unless you're into modern architecture(the building is very cool) or you've got tons of money, which you said you did, to burn don't try to cram it in. All of the shop are expensive. Every time my family drags me along I end up sitting around while the rest of 'em fool themselves into believing they're actually going to buy tons of stuff.) If you've got the time you might as well form you're own opinion. More than likely it will be different than mine! Have a great trip!
