I guess back in the days, many of us didn't think we would see these classic and original MK attractions be closed and retired forever, so we didn't think of recording them for posterity... Not to mention, not too many of us owned 8mm or video cams back then.
Oh, goody...that must be fairly new since I searched before on YouTube and didn't find anything.
Ah, the ride that sparked my interest in my first literary crush, Captain Nemo! ...What?!...He's attractive, incredibly intelligent, classy, and cultured. There is that little matter of him ramming ships out of his desire for revenge, but we can work around that!
I'd love to see them re-create this ride along the lines of the Tokyo DisneySea version. (The Imagineering of which, I understand, is phenomenal.) Or replace the Pocahontas scenes in the WDW Fantasmic with the Nautilus/squid battle as was once planned. Anything for my first literary crush!
this video is of a much better quality than a lot of the submarine voyage videos i've seen. I so wish they hadn't spread pooh all over that area and kept this in. Even though it was a wee bit dated... bah

has some great videos and history of old attractions gone forever. The DVDs sold mostly pertain to DL and the history of extinct rides there, but there are often complete ride-throughs of WDW versions of the attraction and a full ride-through of the 20K attraction is on the Submarine Voyage history DVD. It gets a bit dark sometimes, but it was great to be able to see the ride-through in it's entirety again. As well as some of the other attractions I've re-lived on other DVDs.
Warning: Portions of this attraction are intense and may not be appropriate for younger children.
I have to say I was a little disappointed in 20,000. I always thought it would be something amazing and different then the Sub at DL....ummm not so much:-( It was the same thing as the one in DL less the end scene, the divers in the main lagoon, and of course the narration. But it was still great to see it!!!!
