The Future of the Wonders of Life.....?

I've never actually been into the Wonders of Life bc/ it is always "open seasonally."

I've heard that it's closed for good. But, the WDW website still says "open seasonally" and the sign in Epcot is still outside the attraction.

Not that it really matters one way or another, but what's the future of WOL? What will take its place???

There are rumors that it will reopen for part of the summer, but I find that highly unlikely. The future of WoL is that it pretty much has no future. Most of the building is gutted. Personally, I want them to demolish the building and start anew. It looked like Richard Simmons threw up in there.

I'm afraid it's most likely gone for good. I don't really know what happened. Body Wars was pretty fun and fairly popular and Cranium Command was a pretty funny film.

It's sad to see the pavilion just sitting there doing nothing though.
Warning: Portions of this attraction are intense and may not be appropriate for younger children.

Actually someone posted on either this site or another that they got into that building for some reason, either a part of a tour or were a CM, I can't remember and that that building is just like the rest of the imagination pavilion. Everything is still there, nothing has been gutted. It's just standing there waiting for something to be done.

The rumors for the future seem very strange from the BW simulators being taken to Hong Kong (for star tours) to DuPont either sponsoring a redesigned WOL or a brand new pavilion. As much as I like the place I think its history. The place reeked of '89. The last time I saw cranium command I didn't even pay attention to the show. The whole time I just sat there going what ever happened to: Dana Carvey, Kevin Nealon, Bobcat Goldwaith, etc. Let's just hope they take the pavilion out of it's misery soon so that it can finally get into FW heaven.

I have the feeling that Epcot's 25th gets cut back every day. I don't think the celebration is going to be as grand as everyone hopes/hoped it will be.

There will be no Epcot 25.

WoL is dead as Timekeeper. It's only a matter of time and finding a sponsor.

Most likely WDW had one planned... but look.. Disney is hopped up on global celebrations that last a year... Epcot is minor to them and would get over shadowed.. Like WDW's 35 is.. (I think)

                      ME! Isn't that enough.

When you look at the news coming in, all signs point to the push for the new 2006/07 celebration, effectively cutting off Epcot's party plans. Sure, there might be some shirts, hats, etc, but not party or celebration.

Of course, I could be wrong, but from what we've heard from Disney before and seen them do, I doubt that Epcot will have a 25th party.

<Predicts Future for 25th> I see: commerative merch., some cheap banners and possibly a parade. Lah-de-friggin'-da!

In all honesty I'm surprised WDW hasn't tried to do more for Epcot's aniversary, even just to say it's part of the global crap.

The Year of a Million Dreams celebration ends September 30th 2007. Epcot's 25th is October 1st, 2007. I have every reason to believe that whether or not it is Epcot's birthday, there will be a celebration starting October 1st 2007. Why not be Epcots?

disney wants to do things on a grand scale which mean deemphasizing individual achievements. I did read somewhere that tokyo and paris were each going to incorporate their respective anniversaries into the new plan but nowhere did it say anything about 35th for wdw. it's a shame because wdw hasnt celebrated since it's 25th. so i guess we will have to wait until it's 50th.

I have to agree with Mikey here. Signs are pointing to and EPCOT 25th since the Year Of A Million Dreams isn't 18 months like every other celebration.

IMHO, there is no other park like Epcot in the world. If there is one park that deserves it's own celebration besides Disneyland, it's Epcot.

And you can be right, I just don't see it happening. I hope there is one, with a new FW pavilion and new WS stuff, but I'm not going to be holding my breath.
