  • Maybe this is too soon but...

We've been talking about the 50th celebration for awhile now and with days until it kicks off I thought we should look ahead. Isn't it Epcot's 30th anniversary next Year? Aren't they gonna celebrate it next?

What would you like to see them do to celebrate 30 years of Epcot?

    Here's my top three requests:

    1. I know I would like some new countries in World Showcase and at this point I don't even care which ones they add. Just add something new. Any of the popular choices: Spain, Russia, Egypt, India, Ireland ... whatever, Iger you choose ... just give us something.

    2. I would settle for finishing the existing pavilions by adding the rides that are purported to have been in development. Give me the Italy ride and Germany and I'd be happy for awhile. Canada would be nice too.

    3. I also want new ride or two. Not rides borrowed from other parks but something completely new. Groundbreaking doesn't even matter. Just give us a new experience. Soarin doesn't count since it was for the 50th celebration.

    What about you all?

No, EPCOT is not 30 next year. It opened in 1982, making it 24 in 2006. Not a milestone.

I could be wrong, but I believe that World Showcase Pavilions are created when the host country, or businesses from that country sponsors the pavilion. No sponsors, no pavilion.

Ooops... my mistake. I must've been thinking of the 25th in 2007.

Well at least it is WDW's 35th.

Yes it is but the real question is... do they (WDW management) know that?

I wouldn't expect ANY WDW 35th Anniversary Celeb. They will be knee-deep in the Happiest Theme Park Marketing Gimmick on Earth. I can't see them making a big deal about it ... but I hope I'm wrong.

I've heard the next big WDW celeb will be for Epcot's 25th in 2007.

I'd be surprised if they dont' add more tiaras after the Happiest Homecoming on Earth and continue it just a little too long into WDW's 35th... that is the modern DISNEY (C) style.

At least they cant bring that inflatable cake back!
