  • How do you get to the Disney Boardwalk

I'll be staying on site and using Disney transportation to get everywhere. What's the best way to get from my hotel to the disney boardwalk using the buses?

Depnds on how late you are going. If it's before the parks close, just jump on the first one that pulls up and transfer to Boardwalk at the park. If it's after park closing, take one to the TTC or Downtown Disney and transfer there.

Where are you staying? You could always take a bus to TTC and then switch to a Boardwalk bus there. If you aren't opposed to walking, you could always go to Epcot and then walk to the Boardwalk from the international gateway past the UK. You could also walk to Boardwalk from MGM, but I don't like walking that far in the heat..... .

We'll be at the Pop Century for one night. We're not visiting any parks because we don't have the money or the time right now so the plan is to come in early saturday morning. Check in at the Pop, ride the monorail around so we can at least see some of the disney experience such as Epcot and spend some time at Down Town Disney. Since we just recently spent a great deal of time at downtown disney we wanted to see what the boardwalk would be like since we've never been there.

Well you have three options then.
          1) Take a bus to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Typhoon Lagoon, Downtown Disney or Blizzard Beach & then just go to the Boardwalk bus stop (there are no busses from MGM or Epcot to the Boardwalk)
          2) Take a bus to MGM & walk to the Boardwalk
          3) Take a bus to MGM & take the boat to the Boardwalk

aha, I think I've found the plan for the day then.

We shall head over to Magic Kingdom, take the boat to the TTC then take the monorail ride we want. After that we'll head to either The Boardwalk or DTD and then take a bus from one of those two to the other before heading back to our hotel room.

Just keep in mind that at the Magic Kingdom, park/DtD shuttles are only available at the TTC. Conversly, resort shuttles are only available at the Magic Kingdom bus station.

And to get to the TTC you either take the boat or the monorail correct?

Re: How do you get to the Disney Boardwalk

Again, where's your starting point? If you're coming from the Magic Kingdom you can take either the monorail or the ferryboats. And there are 2 monorail loops that run side by side. One goes counter-clockwise and is non-stop between the MK and the TTC. The other is the hotel loop, and stops in the lobby of the Contemporary Hotel on its way to the TTC. Then it stops at the Polynesian and the Grand Floridian on its way back to the MK.

If this is a sightseeing trip, you might enjoy taking the hotel monorail and getting off at the Contemporary and looking around.

From the Magic Kingdom, yes, either the monorail or the ferry.

Re: How do you get to the Disney Boardwalk

That's my plan Dan. We're coming from the Pop Century so we'll be taking a bus down to the magic kingdom. We'll probably take the boat over to the TTC where we'll take the resort loop, get off at the contemporary for a bit and get back on. This is the loop that also leads over to Epcot isn't it?

The plan is take the bus to the magic kingdom, then take the resort loop getting off to head towards Epcot as well for a loop through Epcot, then back on the resort loop to head back to the TTC. At least I think this is how it works. It's been a long time since I've been on the monorails.

There are 3 seperate loops that all meet up at the TTC. There is the resort loop (which services Magic Kingdom, Contemporary, TTC, Polynesian & Grand Floridian), the Express Loop (which services MK & TTC) and the Epcot loop (which services Epcot & the TTC). You must transfer at the TTC to switch loops.

Mikey covered it quite well above. To clarify, when you're at the Contemporary you're on the resort loop. This loop goes clockwise. The next stop is the TTC. You'll need to get off here and get on the Epcot monorail (signs are everywhere and very clear). This monorail will do the big sweep through Epcot and stop at the Epcot station outside of the Epcot main gates. So you could either take the monorail back to the TTC or just pick up a bus at Epcot for your final destination.

                          Sounds like a fun day!
