  • One Park In One Day - What Would You Pick?

If you got to visit one of the WDW parks for one day what park would you pick? What park would be your second choice on the off chance you could get a second day?

I am asking because it looks like I will have this option in October thanks to the company I work for - and wanted to get the most bang for my day (maybe two) days free time. I have not been to the park in about 20 years so it will be all new to me lol.

Edit - It may help to mention it would be just me going to the park. And I do go to DL all the time.

I would choose EPCOT and Magic Kingdom. Magic Kingdom if only one day to fully feel Disneyfied and Epcot if I had two because despite some of its shortcomings I find it the most unique of the parks.

Coming from SoCal as you are, however, I wuold recommend Epcot for one day and MGM for day Two if you are able to get to Disneyland in anaheim often.

If it were just me or my wife and I - I'd pick Animal Kingdom. We love the safari and ride it every time we go - except this last trip. Our daughter was too young and we couldn't enjoy any of the rides actually.

My second choice would be MK -

bringing the kids i'm pick MK first and MGM second.

oops - ya I forgot to mention that it would be just me going to the park. And I do go to DL all the time. When I went to the MK when I was a kid I can recall thinking how it was just like DL, but it would be cool to see the differences between the two.

I edited in the forgotten info into my OP.

I would pick Epcot. It's full of stuff to keep you busy, especially in World Showcase. If you're an attractions person, you might be bored since it only has 3 E-tickets. Still, I prefer taking my time and just taking in the atmosphere and wonder that is Epcot. And at the end of the day, you get IllumiNations: a spectacular display of lasers, pyro, and a symphonic score!

For a second choice...I would pick Magic Kingdom simply because it has the most attractions and the most "Disney" magic. What beats ending the day with a spectacular display of Wishes? It also has the most classic attractions that you may be familiar with such as Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. The Magic Kingdom is really nothing new if you've been to Disneyland since it's nowhere near as intimate and charming. Still, it has lots to keep you busy.

If you're a thrills person, you might want to switch MGM-Studios with Epcot. Going from Rock n' Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror throughout the day is enough to keep any adrenaline junkie busy. To top it all of, you get to catch Fantasmic! Since you go to Disneyland regularly, you might be disappointed in their version. For this reason, I would highly recommend you visit MGM-Studios only if you have a half-day. A whole day would be better spent at Epcot.

          Hope this helped!

TDR_Fan sums it up pretty well. I would pick Epcot first, because it is so different. I love just leisurely strolling through World Showcase. There is also (usually) a good amount of live entertainment happening in the different country pavilions throughout the day. Plus, the IllumiNations show (as TDR_Fan mentioned) is pretty spectacular.

If you had a the additional half day, I'd go to Magic Kingdom. Mickey's Philarmagic show is fantastic and they still have a People Mover! (Tomorrowland Transit Authority).

Ooh...this is a tough one. Like, really tough.

Although it depends on what sort of park experience you are looking to fulfill, I would have to go with EPCOT first and Magic Kingdom as a second choice.

If you've been to Disneyland, no Magic Kingdom, it's the weakest of the four Magic Kindgoms (not including HKDL). If you're a rides buff MGM. Animal Kingdom for an alternative but still Disney experience. Epcot for atmosphere.

Magic Kingdom or Epcot... I've never been to either of them but hopefully plan on it soon...

EPCOT Since you've alrady been to Disneyland, there is really no reason to go to the Magic Kingdom. There is also really no reason to go to the Studios, as it is the weakest of the four theme parks in WDW. If you don't want to spend two full days in Epcot - and you really do need at least two days to see it - I would recommend going to Animal Kingdom.

Epcot is my fave park so I'd pick that. MK is a close 2nd though.

I'd go to the Magic Kingdom. And I'd go to MGM on my second day. That way I get to see Fantasmic and Spetromagic, and I wouldn't miss out on 'it's a small world' or 'muppet vision 3D'!!!!
