  • MGM's old Backlot Tour Question

All right so I am watching a rerun of the Golden Girls on Lifetime, (Don't laugh) and I start thinking about the Backlot tour. They said that the outside facade for their house was on the MGM backlot though the show didn't tape in Florida but in CA. If the Golden Girls began in 1985 and D-MGM did not open till 1989 were parts of the "studio" in existance before the park opened? If not then where was the house facade located for the first few seasons? Did they tell us those were the real facades but they were just replicas?

Re: MGM's old Backlot Tour Question

Considering that the Studios weren't announced until 1985, I think that they must have been located somewhere else first, then shipped to FL for the Backlot Tour, but that's just the best guess I can make.
