As im sure your all aware Disney has some big news to announce on May 5th. at WDW. Supposedly including new rides and attractions. I was talking to someone who is definatly a reliable source and although he couldnt tell me what the news is he said it is definatley more than just "pooh playground" but it wont be "Expedition: Everest" big. Does anyone know more?

I wouldn't expect anything that hasn't been already discussed. They likely will announce Everest's grand-opening as next April 22 (but it will be running months before that). They may announce a new movie for Soarin for Epcot's 25th Anniversary. An update for Star Tours at the Studios. Maybe even more DVC timeshares (BLECH!!!!!) ... I certainly would be shocked if they announced a major E-Ticket or anything like that.

I am not expecting any big or small news at all on May 5th. We locals have been previewing the Big news in the last few weeks since early April. What else could there be to talk about onMay 5th? Although I would love to be pleasantly surprised, but not holding my breath.

Yes and No. Yes, because they used to charge $19.98 for a 1-cd set. No, because most of the stuff here has been previously released and only craze collectors of park music (like me) would care to buy this stuff. ..and please, don't ask me how many DONNA SUMMER compilations I have bought in my lifetime.

Originally posted by TDLFANI will be there as well on the 5th. Heck! I was there today and bought my "Happiest Celebration" 2cd album!Where did they have the Happiest Celebration CDs? I didn't see it, but I only looked in one store (Mouse Gear).
Back to the subject of the 5th, we already know about the press events on the 4th and 5th. Where would be "the place" to go on the 5th? I'm assuming somewhere in MK, but I'm really clueless. I still haven't decided whether or not I'm going to go. I'll be going with a 2-year-old if I do go, which isn't ideal, but I don't want to miss anything good, either!

^^^You won't miss a thing. Stay home. It will be crowded with media and they won't be letting regular guests anywhere near the ceremony near the Castle. I have even heard that all of Main Street and the Hub will be closed to guests from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. with traffic directed down Main Street sidewalks and into either Adventureland or Tomorrowland. I really wouldn't waste my time. It would be better to head to Disney-MGM or DAK.

It's amazing how so many people on this site are in touch with the true state of the Company and have realistic expectations. This same topic at another Disney site would yield statements like...
Indy Adventure at Disney/MGM!
Villian's Rollar Coaster!
5th Theme Park where all the buildings are made of candy!
Walt is being unfrozed to become the new CEO!
