I've never been down to Disney during Christmas time to see any of their events. I've heard about all the nice things they have but I've never really investigated to find out what they are. I kept hearing all about the Osborne Spectacle of Lights at MGM and for the life of me it just didn't make any sense to me. I had been trying to figure out for the last ten months what Ozzy Osborne had to do with Christmastime in MGM. Imagine how stupid I felt when I finally looked it up and realized it had nothing to do with him or his family. lol

Re: I have to admit to feeling very Disney Stupid right now
I can totally relate to this....When I was a new CM and I first heard about the event my first reaction was 'Wow Cool! I didn't know Ozzy had an event at
MGM! I so have to go!"
Although the event still sounds cool, I still have to admit to a pang of disappointment....Deepbluesea.smugmug.com -Check out my pics!

Re: I have to admit to feeling very Disney Stupid right now
I always thought the same, what does Ozzie have to do with Christmas!? I too had no clue!
For anyones info, from Disney:
"Throughout the holiday season Walt Disney World pulls out all the stops.
Starting in November the four Walt Disney Theme Parks offer all kinds of holiday celebrations. From November 27th though December 20th enjoy Micky’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Check out The Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights It has nothing to do with Ozzy Osbourne but according to the Disney site; “Arkansas businessman and philanthropist, Jennings Osborne as a Christmas gift to his daughter, Breezy. What began with over 1,000 red lights on their 22,000 square-foot home evolved into millions of shimmering beacons. By 1995, the display found a new home at Disney-MGM Studios at Walt Disney World® Resort."

"Throughout the holiday season Walt Disney World pulls out all the stops.) talk about facts, hidden mickeys, the history behind it, etc. - some are repeated during the night but some are only said at the beginning. Also, various locations do include information about how many of certain items were used and information about the event's history.

Re: I have to admit to feeling very Disney Stupid right now
the display is gorgeous but some of the areas need new bulbs, the angels especially. We are going again this year because I have a friend who has never seen them and always wanted to. last year we did epcot so this year MGM. I love christmastime at disney it's lots of fun.

Very funny posts!
We spent the week after Christmas in WDW one year and it was really great. If I'm remembering it right - we went from Dec 27 - Jan 2 or something like that. Everywhere you look on property there are decorations and holiday music playing. They really out-do themselves during that time of the year.
