OK. Everyone (including me) complains about Disney lately being unoriginal, soulless, and many other things about their rides.

What does this mean? It means I am giving a post to see who can come up with some new original ride ideas and where they would go.

    Re: new ride ideas.

Here is the story for one of my RCT2 rides.

Indiana Jones & the Cursed Railroad (Adventureland)
    (Train Rollercoaster)
(Queue building is modeled with Lost City walls)

The story goes that in 1200 BC, European traders traded goods with the Inca tribe. The Europeans imported most of the cargo on a small railroad track called the "Mayberry Railroad." As time went on, some of the Europeans decided to import poisons as if they were spices. The Incan leader caught on and declared war against the local European colonies. As the Incans and Europeans continued to battle, the incan leader realized that the Europeans still relied on their spices and services for trade. So the leader decided to hurt the Europeans where it would hurt the most, by putting a curse on the railroad. The war soon ended as the Incans gained the upper hand. The railroad soon became old, ricketty, and forgotten until recently. Two American explorers, both scientist, re-discovered the cursed railroadduring one of their many explorations. But since then they have perished, leaving behind their notebooks. Days later, a search team discovered the note books and eventually revealed the inside contents to the public. Since then, the public has crowded around to ride this cursed railroad in hopes to find out what happened to the two explorers. Now it is our turn to team up with Indy as he tries to find a way to break the curse and free the two explorers.

But rumor has it, that the inhabitants of the old Incan island have never really left.

Well that is what I could think up off the top of my mind.

Thats good and all but unfortuneatly MK already has a train themed roller coaster...
perhaps this would be better in the place of or right next to the Indiana Jones stunt show at MGM studios

True but there are rumors that once a new attraction opens at MGM they will shut down the show to redo it or build a ride

1200 BC? Perhaps you mean AD 1200 as there were no Incas and no Europeans as we know them in 1200 BC? I don't think the railroad was invented yet either.

BTW, I think it's a wonderful idea with the Incan twist. The native Central/South American Indians have a lot that Disney could draw on to create attractions.

                    Re: new ride ideas.

Here's an in Indy attraction idea I had, actually thought about for Paris but thinking about the responses I got regarding the type of ride being wrong, I guess it would make more sense here, (I always felt the stunt show limited WDW from building an Indy attraction in MK somehow).

The pre-show would be a pair of miners uncovering a secret chamber. We only see glimpses of the room with their flaming torches. It is then that the room starts to light up with what seems like fire, but we only see it flickering on their faces. It then cuts to a wideshot of the site, with screams echoing all around. Then the site foreman instructs his men to contact Indiana Jones due to his expertese in the field of archaeology. He arrives on the scene and the story, (greatly exaggerated), is told to him. He then says, 'How do I find this chamber'. And then a man says, 'There is only one way down'. A shot of a mine cart appears - what a set up for the ride lol. This is of course only a rough outline of the pre-show, which is shown by a projector in one of the camp tents before boarding.

People would travel in mine carts as close to the ones on Doom as possible, each seating 4 with lap bars. There would be 3 or 4 carts per train. After the lift hill, the train would do some huge, sweeping turns around the ruin, under bridges and through mist etc, then the carts would thunder into a mine opening into a rocky tunnel, VERY reminiscent of the tunnels in Doom. They would be dimly lit and highly detailed. After going over a couple of lava lakes, (the majority of tunnel stuff would take place in a warehouse round the back), the mine cart slows till it approaches a spot where the rock wall has been mined through to reveal and ancient chamber.

The car would still be going at quite a speed as it entered the chamber, though slow enough to take in the intricate detailing. Huge statues would coat the side walls, and at the end would lie a huge carved head, (the whole room would have fire and water effects galore). The mine cart would then hurtle towards the flaming mouth of the head, but the fire would part just as it went through. Then SFX would create a 'Flaming Tunnel' effect, and it would be a HOT tunnel! Then the cart would burst out of the mine and back into the outdoor ruins, After a couple of turns, it would be back at the station. The attraction name? Indiana Jones Adventure : The Chamber of Fire.

You wonder what the 'Adventure' is doing there? Well, I think all Indiana Jones attractions, including Temple du Peril in Paris, should be rebranded 'Indiana Jones Adventure', and then have a subtitle. This sort of links them, and sets up the idea of a series of different adventures literally all around the world.

And now for the immortal question...waddayathink?

When WDI or WDP&R hire me, that's when I'll start giving them advice and good ideas.

I gave up the free consulting a while ago.

Not bad, however your going to need to create dialogue for the ride and the ending needs finishing dialogue. Disney is all about creating a story. If you can create the story it is possible. The only other problem I see is that this reminds me sort of like thunder mountain. They also just added Exploring Mount Everest. So I think they would be interested in something other than a thrill ride

                            James Bond - Operation Shadow

Mission: infiltrate Blofeld's secret base and plant the bomb to send his evil plans to the dusty ground. Hop in your Aston Martin (EMV a la Test Track), don your night goggles (3D glasses) and hold on as evil henchmen and deadly robots jump out at you (3D screens like Spiderman IOA), and accelerate quickly (70mph) to escape the ticking bomb!

Park: MGM Studios, expanding using parts of Millionaire, Narnia sets and behind that.

                              Re: new ride ideas.

I had this cool idea for a ride in Fantasy Land.

It's called "Mary Poppins' Flying London Tour".

The ride would be designed much like the ET Ride at Universal but instead of riding bikes, each person would ride a carousel horse. You would board what looks like a carousel and then you are sent flying through the Banks neighborhood in the first scenes where you see the nannies flying away, you would then fly into the Banks home and enter the kids' room for the "Spoonful of Sugar scene". Then you would leave the house and go to the park where you enter the world in the chalk drawing. After that you fly through London again through the "I love to laugh scene" and see the bird woman. The sky slowly changes from day to night and you fly upwards to the rooftops for "Chim-Chim-Chiree and Step-in Time" then you float down a chimney into the banks' home. You fly out through the front door where it is daytime again and back up in the clouds where the last thing you see is Mary Poppins sitting on a cloud talking to her umbrella.

                                    Couple of thoughts...

                                    * Soar'in based ride for Alladin's carpet ride
                                    * Heffelump & Woozles ride w/ the robocoaster tech
                                    * Indy "flying off the plane onto a snow bank into a waterfall into rapids" ride.

                                    Story from Temple of Doom

The story starts off in a simulator movie ride, bumpy plane as you go over
the Himalayas, then the pilots jump out, you start going straight down, then
                                    when you're about to hit the ice, you're ejected onto snow (think matterhorn;
yes, this is a real roller coaster with snow effects), then you round a corner
and you go over a waterfall (think Splash), then into a rapids ride (think GRR).

The effects from the simulator to the roller coaster is easy (you're also going up
in an elevator at the same time). Matterhorn to Splash portion is similar to
the other rides (Atlantis in Seaworld). Don't really know how to do the last
part..(maybe the roller coaster going into a pontoon "boat"? Or maybe have
that part be simulated i.e. still on roller coaster, but driven by water)
