  • New 50th Maps from WDW

Here are the new 50th Maps from WDW... I'm scanning them as I go... eventually I'll have the entire maps from all 4 parks and Downtown Disney.

Yes, this is going to my site. But feel free to use the images where ever you please.

Bill, I also posted a pictures of those maps and the new bag and food item designs in my pictorial, but did't include the DAK since it looks the same as the old one. Are you surprised they didn't include "Lucky" on the cover, since they make such an issue of him being "a part of the happiest celebration..."?

I think that Disney (like me) knows that the stage show at the MK and a new character at AK aren't gonna bring in the big crowds. Having Stitch and the Castle on the MK cover and keeping the old AK cover is fine with me. I also think that Disney promoting "Lucky" as part of the 50th is kinda a dull move. He's great and all, but not great enough. He's only here through July anyway, right? Everest will get the most attention when it opens.

One more little odd thing I'd like to point out... Nhatazu is no more... AK's new slogan is "Adventure Awaits."

The first pages for all maps are up now... (Mostly ADs for FastPass and PhotoPass)

Coming up next is the MK map.

Guys, I haven't forgotten about this, it's just that I've been a little busy this week. Sorry about that. You'll see your maps soon enough.

On a similar note, does anyone have images of the new merchandise bags? I could have sworn I saw them online somewhere, but I can't seem to find them now.

It's kind of sad that WDW didn't bring back actual guidebooks (remember them pre-96) for the parks. But since they have watered down the offerings in merchandise, food and entertainment so much ... and have so many attractions operating seasonally and even staggered hours/days, I guess there wouldn't be much point.

I wish WDW would bring back the giant wall maps for the parks that they used to sell (at the MK anyway) just like DL still does. I posted a picture of the 1981 MK wall map today in my photo album on another site. Not sure if you need to be a member there to view this or not.

It measures 38" x 32". About 4 times the size of the free GuideMaps.

I still have a couple of those old wallmaps, including the opening one for EPCOT Center.
