  • Favorite "YesterWorld" Attracton?

What was your favorite attraction from WDW's past.....

Mine was Alien encounter, and well... thats it.. as i was too young for many others...

I loved how skippy got fried "by accident" how we were going to be transported, but instead the chairman did himself.. and got lsot.. while we got a beast... who was someone's mother in law.....

It was great mix of action Sci-fi and comedy....

I have to say that I really liked Horizons, even though I only got to ride it once, and was only 7 at the time.

Yeah I miss Alien Encounter. I took a bunch of College kids to WDW last January, and they were disappointed after my buildup that it was gone. Thought about this some more.

Probably 20K. If not for the memories of riding it (I think I only rode it one time and of course that was years ago, when I was a wee little one) but for the memories of looking on the beautiful lagoon. It was just always there and always comforting... and now it's not anymore. :-(

I also truly miss the original Journey into Imagination.

I agree on both counts. I am not sure I ever rode 20K, but it was a wonderful addition to the park with it's color and relaxing feeling. O well, hopefully, we will get a suitable replacement sometime in the future.

                There are several I miss...

                MR Toad's Wild Ride...
20,000 Leagues (we went on that every trip to MK)
                World of Motion
The skyway (the buckets over Tomorrowland to Fantasyland)

sigh... At least I can ride Mr Toad at DL

WDW retires rides far less often than Disneyland, though, so thus far at least the load of Yester-attractions is manageable. Just barely. It's reaching a tipping point soon.

                    Alien Encounter.
                    And the old Mickey's Starland.

I don't partically miss the old Journey into Imagination.
Yeah, so I went on it a lot back in 94, and I own an original Figment plush, but really, I don't miss it all that much, but, what I do miss, is the old play area. I liked doing the green wall movies with the Dreamfinder, and all of the light and sound things, but that's about it.

Some of the old play area is still intact upstairs.... (rumor has it.. disney doesn't want to pay the insurance for guests up there... so they closed it off to everyone except cast... backstage... and Special Events....)

I would love to see that area once again....

Horizons and Mr.Toad were good ones. I was just glad to ride Mr. Toad's wild ride one last time before they took it out. I just wish I could have afforded one of the cars when they had it on ebay. Darn!!!

I only first went in 98, but was saddened to hear about Journey into Imagination, and really devistated to hear about Alien Encounter (especially with it's bad replacement!)

                              Insurance for guests?
So that's what that extra $25 on our passes was!
