  • Stills from a Magic Kingdom show in the early 1980s

One of my relatives took all their old 8mm home movies and put them on DVD.

Some of the old films were at Walt Disney World.

Here are some stills of a show at the Magic Kingdom. I don't know exactly what year and the films have no sound, so I wasn't totally sure what was going on in some of the shots. This seemed to be a big song and dance show.

Alice and co (note the Walrus)

Winnie with a honey pot on his head:

I guess Brer Rabbit and Brer Fox were friendly on this day! They both played the tambourine!

Dopey was the only dwarf in the show:

Snow White danced with Dopey and then did an interview!?!?!

Pluto had a funny hat. It may have been designed to look like mouse ears. It was hard to tell.

Anyone know where this stage was/is? Does it bring back any memories?

That was fun, thanks! Dopey looks very startled or like he has a thyroid condition and is Snow White wearing a Sun Bonnet?

LOL! That is Snow Whites wig. Pretty big, huh!

At the end of the show, the characters all gave balloons to the kids in the crowd.

Gosh, this is a tough one. From the looks of the columns, it seems to be someplace on Main Street. Is it possible this is from Disneyland in California?

No definitly not. They have never been there. Also, moments later you see the parade and then shots of Cinderella castle.

Mikey, this is the Fantasy Fairy Theater in Fantasyland, which is where the Ariel's Grotto area is now located at. Curiously, the only thing left from that theater is the rounded canopy where guests can sit and take a break, or enjoy a drink from the nearby Scooter's counter stand. That stage was there up until they replaced it with Ariel's Grotto, and by the lights of me... I can't honestly remember what the name of this show was.. but I wanted to say something like.. "Alice's Tea Party" or something.... ARGH! I hate it when I can't remember things..

Awesome! Glad to have some info on it. Does anyone know when the Fantasy Fairy Theater closed? I have googled it and found nothing!

Not quite sure the exact dates but I want to say it was around 1997 when they closed this stage and built the sea-like play area that now serves as the queue to Ariel's Grotto. But again... I am not sure if that is the right year.

That show is pre 1982. Wow.

                      Thank heavens for costume redesigns!
