On another disney world fan site(one well known), a poster has said that FL's castle is to recieve a brownish tint similar to what was done in TDL. Not sure how reliable the post/rumor/news is but, felt it should be known.

Re: Castle paint rehab!?!?
NOooo. I love what TDL did with the upper levels of their castle but leave the color paint colors alone! The shades of light gray are MUCH appreciated over the so-called realistic brick colors now.
Want to see a castle get ruined? Go look at Disneyland castle then and now. Then the bricks were all white, now they're all painted pink, blue, dark gray, etc. Granted the WDW castle didn't start out life looking all that great, it kind of looked like a big piece of plastic with all the identically-colored bricks. But the color scheme (when they've bothered to maintain it) since Pepto Castle went away has been gorgeous!

um, maintain?? I dont remember them painting the castle that much...
now the turrets got painted what 2-3 years ago??
looked strange back then when it went from faded blue to bright blue.. with a faded brick and such... and hasn't it been nearly 10 years since the last paint job? (this is florida, paint doesn't last forever with humidity)

Re: Castle paint rehab!?!?
They can't really call it Cinderella's castle anymore if it's going to be brown can they? Cinderella's castle is blue and it should stay that way.November 1996. Surprise birthday trip

Here, let me MSPaint with one of Joe's photos to better express myself:
I don't mind the gold and light-brown/dark-yellow touches up top. I think at one point even the MK castle had that sort of look going for it, as evidenced from this shot of a WDW Vacation Planner from way back in the day:
It's just the part near the ground that's ugly. It's trying too hard to be real. The colors seem a little depressing to me personally, and while some might think it looks fine at TDL where half the days are overcast, thinking about the Tokyo two-tone color scheme in the bright light of the Florida sun would make the castle look even more like an eyesore.

Re: Castle paint rehab!?!?
ORDDU: When my sisters and I were visiting the Magic Kingdom a few weeks ago, there was plenty of painting going on as men were situated in a metal basket that was hanging from the crane. We noticed another man with one of those walkie-talkie type things--communicating with the men above. At one point we went over to inquire about this latest paint job.
ORWEN: According to HIM, they would eventually be adding pink highlights to Cinderella's Castle--only not as bold as what they have in California or Paris, according to him.
ORDDU: Naturally we were surprised to hear of this. Ever since then, we've been keeping sharp eyes out for any hints of pink being added to the castle and, thus far, we've seen no evidence of it. However, one cast member who works in one of the shops within the palace told us that this particular paint job is expected to last right up until the Christmas Season. If that is true, it would give those painters plenty of time to change the current color scheme to something a bit different from what we've seen before. Only time will tell...
