Back in 2000 or 1999 just before the MSEP came back to WDW for the millenium .

Disney advertised the MSEP on the freeway .

That is what I first thought when I read freeway, but figured that would be impossible. How funny would it be if those floats were speeding down I-4 at 70 MPH, having Goofy cutting in front of lost tourists.

Like I-4 isn't bad enough on a normal day! But I agree with Melonballer, I wouldn't have minded being stuck with that to watch.

I can see a street in New York, but not a freeway. Especially I-4! That place is crazy enough without a float coming through!

Actually, I remember when the "Hercules Electrical Parade," what it was called for it's one night run in NYC, shopkeepers were quite upset that they were asked to lower their lights so it would help the parade shine in all its glory.

One of my regrets is not talking my parents into going to see that in the city (almost had them there too...)

Every shop that turned off their lights did so voluntarily and was happy to do it. It's news to me that the owners of any of the stores were upset. Maybe the employees of the stores, but not the managers or owners. Heh heh.

No, it was the owners, since people can not shop in darkened stores. It was either in the paper or on the news.
