Wonders of Life to Open for Holiday Season

Someone mentioned on another Disney site that Wonders of Life would reopen from November 26th thru January 1st.

Can anybody confirm or deny this? I have little reason to doubt it; Disney did the same thing last year and the pavillion is still listen as "Open Seasonally" on the Walt Disney World website.

I suspected such a thing when I posted this thread about the info on the WDW website.

I hope that WoL does open again. I have never been in the pavillion, and at least Disney opening it shows that its not dead yet.

To the surprise of everyone, including this writer, the Wonders of Life pavilion at Epcot is reopening for the holiday season. The pavilion opens from November 26 through December 31, according to an internal cast member publication. Cast members begin training on the attraction's pavilions this week. While the counter service food location is closed for good, Body Wars, Cranium Command, and The Making of Me are all expected to be open during the five-week period.

This is great news... I think the last time I was in there was back in 2000 (might even have been closed then). Guess I made a smart choice in missing the reviews for my midterms to go to Florida Here's hoping the shuttle launch get delayed a few days so I can see that too (Was the 12th or thereabouts when I checked last, now it's on the 7th but I'm not in Florida until the 9th )

This triggers a question from me - I believe all the other current FW pavilions have their own theme music. Did WoL ever have any? Just wondering if there's any area loops that may be turned back on for the entrance ramp and the interior pavilion itself.

I also wonder if they'll take the time and money to rehabilitate that poor fountain with the multicolor lights underneath the sign?

There was most definitely a specific music loop for the pavilion. It was very new-age-y. The one song I really remember was by harpist Andreas Vollenveider - very spacy, but perfect for the area.

So I got to puttering around today, and was looking on the excellent Disney music loops site (disneymusicloops.com). The piece that I thought was by Andreas is actually a song called Behind the Waterfall by David Lantz & Paul Speer. This is just the coolest site! Listening to clips of the tunes from the WofL loop really brought back the vibe of the place, back when it was fairly new and still drawing large crowds.

I am really looking forward to this! I always loved WOL and my daughter has never even seen it. So, I guess if I don't go in December, I and she will probably never have the chance again. I will be taking a ton of pictures and video while I'm there in December.

when I went to wdw in june, I talked to a cast member outside of Energy, and she told me that Disney usually only opens it around the Christmas season. She said that on various occassions it has been considered to be open year round, but as far as I know its not closing quite yet :ap:

Oh I know! I really do like this pavillion in the time I got to spend in it last year, especially Cranium Command.

If anyone can shoot video of Cranium Command and Body Wars I would love to get hold of it. In the 3 times I managed to get in in it's early days I never managed to get the footage shot. The last 8 visits it has only been slated to be open twice and when we got there it was closed. So once again no footage.

Eh, I put a rubber band around the battery clasp and I cleaned it up. Works just fine, even in manual. Thanks again Figment and Cmash!

Well, it's been dead for a while ...yet it refuses to stay down.

Epcot VP Brad Rex mandated last year that it would NEVER open again, but his superiors believe that the park needs more capacity for the holidays with huge lines expected at the new Nemo as well as Soarin and Test Track.

This was basically a forced from above decision.

I might have to make a special visit just to see CC one more time!

I just priced air, Pop Century, and rental car for a 4 nights/5 days in early December and it came to $1000 for 2. I wonder how many would laugh at me if they knew I spent a grand just to say goodbye to an aging 80's Pavilion at Disney with no food service or gift shop left, and one ride that makes me nauseous...things that make you go Hmmmm

A lot would probably laugh...but it's your grand so spend it how you like and to heck with anyone else. I'm just lucky enough to have already been going at that time this year but I might have just done the exact same thing.

I am not sure that I would count on these dates if I were you. A warning to those of you planning vacations: I think they only opened for about two weeks last year (12/18-1/5) and I am pretty sure that it was NOT opened when the tell-a-cast said it would be. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Also, since it is not on the map the place is pretty empty. I took one ride on Body Wars with only three people in the (star-tours-sized) cab during Christmas week last year.
