Its been awhile since I've been there but one thing I learnt from it was the balcony. If your asking for a balcony make sure you tell them it has to be open, not an enclosure. Meaning when you sit down you can see!! The first room they gave me had a balcony but if you sat down you couldn't see anything. It was like being in a closet. Big time stinko. I told the help that this is no good and I did get a room with a normal balcony, one you could sit down, have a drink and watch all the people go by. It is a very nice lodge though. Enjoy.

I stayed there in September and LOVED it! We had a great experience there. It is a beautiful hotel and the rooms are a good size. It was in a good location and we never had to wait long for a bus or a boat. I would stay there again in a second!

Wilderness Lodge is IMHO, the best resort at WDW. Lush, comfy and simply wonderful.

Perfect resort. I loved it in the morning, afternoon and night. I also like the way it makes one feel as though they are hidden from the outside. It is nice to come back at night to the low lights and see the main building perfectly lit. Awesome place.

I have a couple up here and one here and here...I don't have anymore at quick access...but maybe I'll get to them. Either way it is the best hotel in WDW...if it is in your reach to stay there...do it.

FWIW, some friends of ours (former CM's) love WL. It's their fave Disney resort.

Yay TDLFAN! I completely agree. The WL is my home away from home. The Lodge is so impressive looking, yet it still has this amazing homey feel to it. Since you are going in December, I don't know how many holiday related events will be going on, but I have a few tips that you may like. If you have a free afternoon (free afternoon at WDW? Who would schedule that?), try taking the Lodge tour. Some of the architecture was built on American Indian beliefs, and the tour points neat stuff like that out. If he is still around, I recommend that you meet Stan. Stan is this elderly man dressed in a park ranger's uniform who has worked at the Lodge for the past....I don't know, ten years. He is such a cool guy who will fill you in on some tidbits about the hotel too. I also recommend paying the WL Villas a visit. Even though I'm not a DVC member, I strolled over to the villas just to check it out. There is this little tucked away room called the golden spike room that contains chairs, a fireplace, a few tables, and one of Walt's own mini train pieces - was it called the Carolwood Pacific RR???(okay guys, correct me here if I'm mistaken). You are going to love it! You'll have to take holiday pictures at the Lodge for us!

It's a fabulous hotel! Great choice! We never had to wait for a bus or a boat and it just seemed so centrally located to everything. Have a great trip!

I am definitely one to sing its praises also...Simply a gorgeous hotel! And, I believe the rooms have been recently refurbished, so it should be even more gorgeous than ever.
                              It's a Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah...Tip for Today!
