  • Wishes second launch site?

Has anyone heard a rumor of imagineers adding a second launch site at the MK?
I have seen a document filed by WDI to the Orange County Comptroller stating information about the construction of a second main launch site for Wishes.
Could this be an ALF system?

I have also seen a document about the installation and relocation of ALF systems at EPCOT for ROE. I am guesing that the UK ALF will be relocated somewhere else. Another ALF system would be installed at the American Gardens Theater.

ALF stands for Air Launched Fireworks.
Several years ago, Disney developed an patented a technique in which compressed air is used to launch fireworks at WDW and DLR. Disnry has since donated these patents to non-profit organizations.

I have recieved some information that the second launch site may be a modified version of the main one. This modified version is able to launch an entire second show without reloading the first launch site. It is used on nights when Wishes/MVMCP/MNSSHP are shown together on the same night.
The only thing that needs to be reloaded are the Fantasyland devices.

This is where I got the information.

The problrem with this is that Maple lane is the Firework Storage area.
It would be foolish to add a site where it will likely pose as a hazard.
If a misfired devise were to detonate near any of the buildings, that would create a serious problem and possibly a loss of life.
Another problem with this location is that it is located about 2 1/2 miles Wast NorthWest of the castle. It would not create a very good effect for the spectators from this far away.

My guess is that the papers were signed there since that is where the office is.
However, your idea is a very good one.

My original post has been confirmed by a pyrotechnician at WDW.
The second laubch site filed this past January was for a modified version af the current site allowing for two shows to be launched without reloading any of the main shells. The only things that had to be reloadaed are the Fantasyland devices an the rooftops.
I have not heard anything yet about the RoE ALF devices.
