Yesterday marked the first official Mice Chat meet for the locals around the Walt Disney World area and beyond.
As always you can see all the photos I took that day HERE.
I started out the morning at Animal Kingdom, as it opened at 8am, I arrived around 7:50am and went straight in to get my quest stamped for VMK at Kali River Rapids. I have to tell you there is nothing like seeing the sun come up over AK, the light gives everything new life and adds a feeling of new beginnings.
After obtaining my stamp I had the opportunity to ride Everest 3 times! As I was by myself, I took advantage of the single ride line and had a really great time!
Look! It's me as a baby! Only my VMK friends will get this joke.
Hmm, I hope this isn't an indication of what's to come..
Where'd the track go?
Whew! I made it.
I then headed over to Magic Kingdom, to get some rides in before the meet.
Aww I just missed the ferry, well look at that, another one is right behind it.
My first stop was the Exposition Hall, its a great little museum that I recommend you stop by and see if you have a little free time.
They have a great little theater showing Mickey Mouse cartoons, nice air conditioned area that is never busy. I highly recommend it on a hot day.
They also have these great cut outs for kids as well.
And a great time line of Disney history.
Then it was onto Main Street, the day was a little cool but beautiful none the less.
The Piano Man! He really is great, one of those little touches that you appreciate in the Disney parks.
Adventureland Time! Here is the famous Dole Whip stand.
It was about that time I got a call from Figment1986 and Cmash and I met up with them just in time to see my boy Jack. *fans self* This man is so fine, he really embodies the character.
His pirate friend Sam, was posing just for me inbetween fights, was really funny!
After the show we headed to the Jungle Cruise, I even heard some jokes I had never heard before. The girl wasn't that interractive but it was still it's cheesy goodness.
At that point I needed my traditional churro, however I got stopped by the Parade of Dreams at...noon? It seems they added a parade in the middle of the day just to screw with the traffic movement throughout the park.. I'm kidding.
I then headed to the Country Bear Jamboree as I hadn't seen it in awhile. I was happy to find they fixed the audio problems I remember from last time.
The Diamond Horseshoe was open, they were selling sandwichs and chips? Sad, I would really like to see something come back to this place.
It was about time for the meet and the crowd levels started to pick up so we headed over to Tomorrowland.
I decided to grab some lunch and try the Noodle station as I had never eaten there. I got the Chicken Teriyaki, it was good.
The meet rolled around and well we didn't have many but I imagine once the word gets out that will change. Here is who attended.
Figment1986, Cmash, Bill and me(SummerinFL)
Then we headed to Monster's as I was the only one that had not seen it yet. The queue was ok, I think they could have done more with it but what can you do.
I won't post the inside so I don't spoil it for some. Not to mention I got yelled at after two pictures that no photography was allowed.
I liked the attraction, I think it's cute but I think it's only serves its purpose as a filler and doesn't go above and beyond what you would want from Disney.
We then headed to VMK Central to turn in some quests and I found out some disturbing news about the quests, then we headed to the Confectionary for candy goodies.
It was time to head over to Epoct as we had reservations at Mexico and we wanted to catch the new ride Gran Fiesta Tour.
We did get stuck on the monorail for about 10 minutes, no one told us why but I did manage to get a great shot of Space Mountain while we waited.
After finally arriving at Epcot, we got to Mexico. New signage!
I like the new overlay, the only thing I really miss from the old is the song and the bazaar scene but they incorporated the Cabelleros well and it was a nice difference.
I love the kids hitting a Donald Duck Pinata.
Afterwards I got my rice cream dessert from Norway and we settled into our spot for Illuminations.
