  • Secrets of Disney World

Hello, I'm a new member and I noticed a thread in the disneyland forum about the secrets of disneyland.
It was a really cool idea and I thought it would be cool to start a thread for some little known secrets of disney world.
I searched for a similar thread for this topic but I didnt find one so if this has been done before, I apologize in advance.

There are no bricks in the castle.
Everest's cost was much higher then what was released to the press.
Reflections of Earth's Earth Globe is the most complicated piece of show equipment ever created.
The color of the pavement at WDW is designed to enhance the color of your photos.
There is a hidden Donald Duck in the Haunted Mansion.
The Utilidoors prevent the Magic Kingdom from expanding in certain areas.
WDW is a giant Wi-fi hotspot with a secure network that covers the entire property.

And those are just to start.

Is the hidden Donald Duck the chair? I still refuse to beleive that is supposed to be a hidden Donald.

I'll throw one in that I'm surprised you didn't mention Dr.:

The voice of the current Figment is the same actor who voices Gonzo the Great.

And Eric Idle plays me when I don't have time to be me!

And yes, that is an official Hidden Donald chair.

OMG, now that's all I'm going to be thinking when I hear Figment.

          Here are mine..

          1. The brown pathway in Liberty Square is supposed to represent a river of poo from olden times when people used to throw out their bed pan contents onto the street. (Gross, I know.)
          2. Always ask a CM if you can sit in the front of the monorail 8/10 times they will let you or you might have to wait for the next train.
          3. On your first visit to the World, go to Guest Relations and get a pin. That works on your birthday as well.

That's all I got so far. LOL

I'm going to have to agree with yoyo, if it's a Donald duck, then it was made by Salvador Dali.

There is a phone call waiting for you if it is your birthday or your honeymoon.

Salvador Dali did work with Disney at the time that chair was being created...

Didn't they remove the chair though? Or did it return?

The grand opening of the Magic Kingdom included a 1,076 piece marching band, with Meredith Wilson, the composer of the Music Man, conducting.

That wasn't the name I remember being associated with the furniture designer. Hold on, let me look it up.

Didn't say he designed it, said he worked with Disney at the time.

Nope, chair is there. The old one had to be re-built, so they had a temp chair there for a while.

Ok, I guess it can be debated, but influence and hidden Donald, still seems a little iffy to me.

Every Audio-Animatronic installed before Splash Mountain relies on operation from a central hub in the Utilidors.

And that poo thing in Liberty Square - gross.
