  • A New Pirate Themed Restaurant in Adventureland

I heard a rumor from somebody who was scoping out different WDW sites that there may be a new Pirates restaurant opening in Adventureland tentatively named 'Tortuga' - anybody else have any more information or possibly confirmation on that?

    That would be awesome.
Maybe it could be in the vein of the 50s resturant at MGM.

I would never eat in a restaurant named after a turtle!

It should be just like the BLUE LAGOON restaurant at Disneyland Paris. Keep the name Blue Bayou for the West Coast.

            Erm.. in what way?

Because if you're suggesting that the ride would go through the restaurant like the Blue Lagoon, you are incorrect. There is not enough room in the show building to place a restaurant there. However, it will be in the Caribbean Plaza vicinity.

Somehow I'm not sure a quick service would be what they'd put in though. Any word on what time of dining location this would be? I know there is one that they use during the busy seasons (holidays and free dining time) next to Pecos... I'm guessing it would go there?

Apparently it will be a proper restaurant, no counter service. Its basically to counterbalance the princess girls getting Cinderella's Dining Table which rakes in the money, while there isn't really a pirates dining location where parents can spend even more money.

If you're talking about El Pirata y el Perico restaurant that is rarely ever open...I think that would be the most logical choice. But if they can't keep that one open on a non-seasonal basis would another work? Maybe a sit-down table service....

It would be cool if they had some Carribean foods =)

There is plenty of room in the show building for a resteraunt. What you do is place tables in among the various scenes. You could fit tables on the pirate ship in the beginning of the attraction and sip champagne as Barbossa assaults the nearby fort.

mmmmm eating chicken in the Carribean.

I believe the location they were considering is the old adventure land restaurant which is currently only used for the dole whip window and during special events as a meet and greet area and or candy area.

Oh yeah...didn't even think about that place. I have only been in there at Halloween for the meet and greets and they used to use it for the photo they used to give away at the party too.

Screamscaph has had this rumor for a while. If it is true, it would be a great place for my little cousins to eat.
