  • Disney Pixar Studios !?!?

I just discovered the following at Screamscape.com but have only seen mention of it there - anyone else have any more info?

"Lots of buzz this week about the eventual re-branding of the park as Disney-Pixar Studioshttp://www.screamscape.com/html/wdw_...gm_studios.htm

    Re: Disney Pixar Studios !?!?

While this all seems well and good I am concerned about todays rumour that a copy of the Cursh coaster in paris might be coming to WDW but with a Cars theme. That sounds really lame...Cruch fits with the theme of the coaster but how can Cars do the same?

Also the ride has serious capacity issues resulting in nearly 2 hour que lines for a short 1. Min 30 second ride. Also at the lowest attended Disney Park in the world.

A Cars coaster would definitely be a tough sell ... but a Cars themed Speedway over at the MK - that would be a nice fit.

Twin coaster like Primeval Whirl and issue solved.

There's been a bit of mention about Disney-PIXAR Studios here on MiceChat. Try searching around the forum a bit. The recent "Captain Rex fired?" thread has a little bit of information too.

I'd trust half of what you hear.
Because half of that info is correct. The rest is made up. You figure out which half.

Though, I suppose no one is going to kill me if I point this out.

Its actually a Monsters Inc. ride using crush coaster. Capacity wont be an issue when you have other new rides like Toy Story Mania and Star Tours 2 soaking up the crowds.

Monsters Inc could work. I would rather have a change of theme than just clone atrractions. Sure it's cheaper, but its so not interesting!

I prefer "The Disney-MGM Studios". Thank you, very much. Of course, "The Disney-Lucas Studios" has a nice ring to it.

A document has been filed for the addition of a Pixar Studios sign in MGM, most likely on Mickey Avenue.

Oops, Bill posted this already. Sorry.

Well, it may not be a concrete sign like the said Mickey Avenue sign. However, it is certainly a sign of things to come.

Bill, can you answer why the park is refered to as "Disney's MGM Studios"?

if you ask me i have a feeling that mgm studios and DCA will be renamed the disney/pixar studios in the future. they are both similar with attractions and are even getting new attractions that are the same.
