I was just wondering if any else ever does this but I know that many of you have rituals that you go through when you vacation at WDW (I always ride the WDWRR first etc...), but I wonder if any of you have an entire theme to your vacation. I guess after being a former CM and going with my twice a year for the past 10 years you start to look forward to different things.

Heres an example and are going to try and visit each attraction in chronological order; experiences each attraction as it became a part of WDW in order, and then maybe judging the technologcal advancements of each or seeing where TPTB took a step back.

Other times he have picked a year (example 1983) and only done attractions and resaurants that were there in 1983.

Just a Q, and wanted to know If we're the only weirdo's that do these sort of things.

Well on my last visit when I went to MK I started with Adventureland, then Frontierland and Liberty Square and part of Fantasyland. I didn't even make it into Tomorrowland! Then on my next visit I started in Tomorrowland and worked my way over... instead of going all over and such. I actually did things the way they were originally designed to. It was a lot of fun and quite relaxing that way.

Man, I wish I went enough to do themes!
It's more like... ride as much as you 'cuz you don't know when you're coming back! :lmao:

      That's a really cool idea!
      Good morning, son
      In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
      It was pain
      Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

Riding the attractions in order that they were opened in the parks? What a cool idea! I will have to try that on my trip in October. I am such a Disney nerd! LOL

            Re: Themed Trip

We have been going to WDW as a family since my son was six months old ... he is 17 now.
Since then we have had 3 more children, all girls, and we continue to visit at least once a year.
No themed trips to speak of but every year we have done many traditional things such as eating at the same favorite restaurants or being up on time for each and every early opening.
And although my kids have grown and their tastes and desires have changed we always seem to fall back on our traditional style when visiting WDW. We still love seeing the characters and the Magic Kingdom is still our favorite park.
Some other traditions for us are:
            - riding the monorail to nowhere in particular
            - riding Big Thunder Railroad during the fireworks
            - playing checkers in Frontierland
            - getting cinammon rolls at the Main St. Bakery
            - riding Space Mountain multiple times during EMH (formerly E Ride night)
            - waiting for the front row of Small World and Pirates
            - buying souvenier buckets of popcorn
            - riding the Tomorrowland Transit Authority
            - eating at Le Celier and going to Epcot & Illuminations on our first night
            - getting slush drinks at the stand just outside Test Track
            - walking to Disney MGM from our hotel (Swan or Beach Club)
            - seeing the Muppets pre-show
            - making different poses for the pictures on the Tower of Terror
            - eating lunch at Pizza-fari
            - visiting the Arcade at the Contemporary
            - shopping at the Character Warehouse Outlets
            - buying cakes or cupcakes at Goodings Market
            - playing at the Lego store In Downtown Disney
            just to name a few.

As a genuine sucker for snacks (especially WDW snacks. I cant tell you how many Dole Whips I have eaten in my life) I'll have to try the slush drinks next time.

We actually do that w/the single riders meets - it just sorta happened the first one and evr since each one has been a theme!

Here is how we did our "theme", and I imagine it's not so unique...

Ride whatever has a queue 30 minutes or under. If you miss one, return on the next morning EMH and ride those first.

For meals, on counter service, eat at non "peak" hours, for table service, make reservations.

                        Wooo Hooo! We Rock!
