  • Wonders to be gutted

Just a heads up. Wonders of Life will be gutted in the near future (within a month or so). Everything but Body Wars and Cranium will be gutted out of the building. The two attraction entrances will be "boarded up". Saddest of all is that the Body Wars mural will be painted over.

Look for this space to be a convention space and also be a festival center.

Lame news, but it is happening none the less.

This sucks, I like Body Wars because it is the perfect mix between real science and science fiction. Aren't there about a million other places that could be used for conventions and festivals? The Disney Company needs to stop being so cheap.

So now the Millennium Village and WOL are going to be for conventions and private functions?!? Two huge areas are not necessary, IMO, inside a theme park, for conventions.

The property is twice the size of Manhattan, but Disney execs will take a formerly popular pavilion and instead of rehabbing it and giving guests great attractions and interactive experiences they've come to expect, are converting it into another area for conventions.

      Grrrrr...

Well, that sucks. I loved Wonders of Life. Why are they going to keep Body Wars and Cranium Command around if they just remain closed? Will these conventions allow them to privately open?

          Thanks for the information.

I am absolutely heartbroken! I was so hoping they would re-think this and rehab that pavillion back to its original glory. I remember when Body Wars was the only thrill ride at Epcot and people would wait for over an hour to ride it. At least I was fortunate enough to get to see its last hurrah back in December and at least let my daughters see some of it.

Don't forget the wasted space that is the former Odyssey restaurant.

                Very sad news.

They should bulldoze the whole pavillion and rebuild Horizons in its place.

I know epcot is popular but they don't need three special event spaces. they have the old millenium village and the odesy restaurant, unless they have decided to dismantle the "temporary" village structure.. I didn't know there was such a demand for special events at epcot

You'd be amazed. Both event spaces have events at least twice a week, if not more! Not saying I agree with converting attractions into event spaces though. lol

But this one I can live with. Note it's a "Festival Center". 25 years of Epcot Exhibit anyone?
