  • New Thriller References The Haunted Mansion

    The new supernatural thriller, "1408" opening tomorrow in theaters, is - at it's most simplistic level - the tale of a man in seach of ghosts and at one point he supposedly references our beloved Haunted Mansion

    "Nothing would make me happier than to experience a paranormal event, to catch a glimpse of the light at the end of the tunnel," Mike says.
    But Mike's a confirmed disbeliever, a man who advises that Disney's the Haunted Mansion is the best place to see ghosts and that the real value of supernatural stories is to boost business for forgotten little hotels bypassed by the interstates."

    If anyone gets a chance to see this flick before me, feel free to reply with a confirmation.

    {I wasn't quite sure where to put this post as it could refer to either Disneyland or WDW but since the WDW attraction is sadly closed at the moment, I felt this would be a nice spot.}

    I need to re-read the original story to see if they mention it there as well.

        I work at a local theater and saw the film on tuesday.

        Yes, John Cusack's Character does reference the Haunted Mansion in the Magic Kingdom during a book signing.

        Here is how the scene went...

        Excited Fan: "So Mr. Enziel, Where do you think my best bet is to see a real live ghost?"

        Mike Enziel (Cusack): "Haunted Mansion, Orlando."

        Excited Fan then looks down in dismay and slowy walks away, dissapointed with his idol's sarcastic demeanor.
        Siggy siggy sig sig.

              Aha! Glad I saw this thread! The other night I caught this while watching the preview for "1408" http://youtube.com/watch?v=lgLm4_fq6GY
              At exactly 2 minutes and 5 seconds pause the play button to see the something very familiar. HM fans should recognize this instantly.
