  • Castle bling - an improvement?

I for one, think that, aside from the big ovaly thing with the pictures on, the WDW Castle looked immensly better with its bling. Otherwise, I think, it looks a little bare (at least on the side facing Main Street, the eastern side is far superior). Does anyone want to see the bling return?

I felt the bling should of just been christmas decorations. The Castle is awesome just the way it is without the bling really. *IMHO*

I'm not a fan of the bling. I prefer it without, very simple. Having bling from time to time isn't too bad, but it would bother me after a while.

Don't be daft! Permanent bling would be ridiculous!

They would never do such a thing.

It would be like drawing a moustache on the Mona Lisa.

Or erecting a huge cartoon Mickey hand over Spaceship Ear......................................oh.....

Never liked the 'bling' all that much. DLP has had the best (and by far most subtle) castle overlay yet for the 15th.

Indeed I think it worked tremendously well with the candles and small logo yet the campaign is massive

Re: Castle bling - an improvement?

What would be an improvement is if they were to repaint the castle to match TDL's color scheme. It's so much more...well...colorful and it just seems much more pleasing to the eye.
I'd have to say no to the bling, it was good for the 50th but, that's it. It would of seemed like overkill and over-the-top especially if they left all those characters up there too. (Although, I do wish they would of added more of the characters to WDSP.)

I like the new TDL colour scheme but I'd rather see the existing castle tarted up (not necessarily bling just made a bit less bare in areas). It has such potential

i would rather see "bling" during holiday seasons, ie halloween, christmas and easter. and lighting could be adjusted seasonally as well. but I don't really want to see permanent bling on our castle. That being said, I must admit that when I went back to california this summer, I missed the tiaras on the castle, but that's just me.

I know I'm in the minority, but I actually liked the mirror on the castle during the HCOE.

I think it should remain plain, i think it would hold more respect that way.

I didn't particullary like the 50th decorations on the castle.
We'll see how the castle looks with lights on it in a few months.

I agree that permanent "bling" is a bad idea.

The following is based entirely on photographs. The new scheme always seem a little ackward when it is a bright and sunny day. When it seems to be more overcast, like the local weather is known for, the castle looks superb. Based on this I think the scheme would look really out of place in Florida. I'd love to hear from TDLFAN or any other frequent visitor to Tokyo Disneyland regarding the castle's colors in weather more like that found in Florida.
