Today I got a brochure about the Food and Wine Festival today, and while looking at it, I found this passage:

In addition, you will also find two seminars (sic) areas featuring daily complementary wine seminars and a location for the daily International Beers of the World seminars.
The Odyssey will also continue to house the culinary demonstrations, but I thought that I would just pass this info along.

They should open Cranium Command for it too.

I am looking forward to the pavilion being used, though.

Does anyone else see this as odd? The theming doesn't make sense. At least in the old place, the space was pretty generic. 2007 Festival, which is pretty classy and sophisticated for a theme park, in a stale, old, pink and purple, screaming of 1980's, health/body exploration pavilion?

Clearly the marketing managers won this fight. Let's move a nice, successful, movie-tie-in/characterless, signature event to a dump so we can make more room for characters that don't belong. Then we can use that opportunity to sell more merchandise.

WDW-The best themed shopping mall and only a $71 cover!

it's sick. more money, less product. yay wall st.!!

^^Well in preparation for the Festival, they're removing all the bolted down things still left inside the pavilion (the old exercise bikes and stuff that have been covered up for ages) and they already painted over the Body Wars mural.

Yep, the entire pavilion (minus the two attractions) is being gutted, and both the DNA Tower & Entrance Sign have been removed.

Here is just a wild thought...
                The Sign is gone.
The place is totally being remodelled.
Im thinking after the food & wine festival, disney is going to do something drastic to the pavillion.
Maybe they finally got a new sponsor?
Disney must be up to something if they are taking down the sign, and gutting the place BUT still leaving the attractions...

I have been told by reliable sources in Epcot that Cranium Command and Body Wars are still on the schedule to open this Christmas season and all the remodeling is just for food and wine. So I doubt there are big things coming soon, maybe after the new year though...

Unfortunately, after the F&W festival, the pavilion is handed over to convention space (ala Odyssey & World Showplace).

Thanks yoyo. Looks like we'll be there for the festival. It is one of my husband's favorite times to go. We drink way too much wine and eat way to much , but it is all good.

My goal one day is to drink too much wine at the Food and Wine Festival.

Oh well, guess I'll have to look forward to drinking around the world instead.

Sorry pal, "Convention Space" is not an area of the company that anything can be handed over to.

I suppose you mean Event Services or Special Events... but they also don't have the final say on "convention space." That's park management, and now, WDI.

Being used as convention space isn't the same as permanently given to someone.
