  • Tinkerbell "Drug" T-Shirts on sale inside of WDW

Interesting article with photos of the T-Shirts...

    http://www.thedisneyblog.com/tdb/200...bell-ente.html

The Pink Tink Tee alludes to the acid trips and drug culture, of the 60s and 70s. Both shirts have psychedelic qualities in their design. Both were for sale this weekend in the MouseGears store at Epcot. I could understand seeing something like this at Hot Topic maybe. But right there inside a Disney theme park? Who is watching the character branding these days?
So, should these T-shirts be on sale inside of the parks?

That pink one is a total Jimi Hendrix rip-off.

So that's what pixie dust is! No wonder it made everyone fly!

Seriously though - storm in a (madhatter's) teacup. Get a life and move with the times.

I think this is an overreaction. Unless it made a blatant reference, they need to leave it alone. That is like saying that PBS is endorsing homosexuality because tinkie winkie from telitubbies is purple and has a triangle antenna

Honestly? I'm not too familiar with the drug industry, and I don't know it's hidden messages and nicknames and nicknames for the nicknames... but I can see how some innocent kids might think that they're getting some cool T-Shirt but it could come out as something else.

I agree that Hot Topic would be a better place to sell these shirts.

I would imagine my kids (ages 5 and 8) would dislike the one with the skulls just because they don't care for that sort of thing to begin with. However, they're not going to get the drug references and association to the 60's unless adults tell them.

              I understand what they're talking about in a way, but c'mon, its a t-shirt!
Now, if Tink was on the shirt smoking pot, well, that would be something different.

That's sort of like claiming any shirt with a cydesdale on it is promoting alcoholism.

I see no problem with the shirts.

I mean, I wouldn't wear it, but yeah...

Yeah "Peace" and "Love." That's dangerous stuff there! We wouldn't want anyone thinking about partaking in any of that!

I think some people need to get their head out of their own agenda.

                            Absolutely.

I don't much care for the "two tinks" shirt, but I do like the "Experience" shirt.
