  • labor day weekend madness

I don't remember if I have been to WDW on the labor day weekend (odds are I have) but anyone know what the crowds are like? Rooms seem to be plentiful and the crowd level calendar is at 5, but things change.

Six years ago we went to MGM on Labor Day and were surprised to find light crowds. The reason given was that school were starting the next day up North-basically the end of summer vacation.

too look more than a month or so ahead you now have to join the site or buy the book. i have seen a lot of disney books and while this one isnt as 'grabbing' it has some facts, stats, and other info that are a force to be reckoned with. worth it to me.

Here's to hoping there are light crowds that week!
          Good morning, son
          In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
          It was pain
          Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

Hello neighbor! We're in Aventura. I've been to WDW for Labor Day a few times and it's usually very nice. In fact, we're going up again this year!!!

                  Re: labor day weekend madness

I agree with the rest of the posters, Labor day is probably the best three day weekend to go to Disney. It might be crowded on saturday but people head home on sundays because classes either start on tuesday or have started already like down here and they want a day to recouperate. I went on labor day itsself about 5 years ago and was surprised at how quiet MK was. also we still have the rainy season so come prepared with a poncho.

If I have only learned one thing groing up in SoFla its that a poncho is great while its raining for the first few mins, then you realize that its 89F, 100% humidity, and your stopping air from moving around your body.

I havent even checked the forecast though, will just be annoyed. either way, I'm glad to finaly get away. work has had me tied up so badly that this is the longest period of time I have ever gone without seeing the mouse (6 months!).

glad to hear its gonna be quiet. can't wait.

Florida's moto should be, "Don't like the weather? Wait 15 minutes!"

                          Re: labor day weekend madness

Labor Day weekend is traditionally not very crowded. And with four parks now, it may indeed seem uncrowded depending on park/day/time.

                            Re: labor day weekend madness

I was there last year and it wasn't bad. I was previously a Sept 10 and beyond visitor (and I came in during the hurricanes in 04) so I was used to most rides being walk ons but still, labor day wasn't bad at all. Going back this year too

My only concerns this time of year are the Tom Joyner/Night Of Joy things that happen on the weekends of and after labor day. The early closings made things a little more crowded in the evenings than I was used to.
