  • Something for you pin collectors

Let me start by saying I don't collect pins so I don't know if this is a good thing. Right now Lowes stores in Florida (maybe elsewhere?) have a promotion where if you buy 8 AA Energizer batteries the package includes one of 5 Disney 50th anniversary pins at the regular price of 8 batteries ($5.17). I don't know if the pins are limited edition or not. Just thought I'd pass this info on.

I was at Walgreens this afternoon and they had the 50th Anniversary Energizer battery packs. So maybe this is a national promotion.

I got four, so I guess I'm missing one.

    1. Mickey & Minnie with the Earth.
    2. Tinkerbell over the Disneyland castle.
    3. Cinderella at the WDW castle.
    4. Goofy hangliding over EPCOT.

Just because it's gone doesn't mean I changed my mind! :cwink:

DISCLAIMER: Being over here in Arizona, I'm a little starved for 50th fun. I'm not a pin collector, but I went looking for anything that would give me a fix. Tortillas and batteries...tortillas and batteries...tortillas and batteries...

Ok, I opened one of the Energizer battery packs and there's a small brochure inside. The FIVE pins are:

      1. Happiest Celebration On Earth (featuring Mickey & Minnie)
      2. Soarin' (featuring Goofy)
      3. Cinderellabration (featuring Cinderella)
      4. Walt Disney's Parade Of Dreams (featuring Peter Pan and the lead Train Station unit)
      5. Remember...Dreams Come True (featuring Tinkerbell --- or Tinker Bell as the brochure says...)

I guess I should have put two and two together to figure out the Goofy and Cinderella pins, but I wasn't that brilliant. But at least only 2 out of 5 are WDW specific. That's a little bit of progress for Disneyland's Anniversary.

MickeyJCA, what did you think of the pins? Are they anything special or junk?

Well, again let me state that I'm not a pin collector, so I probably don't have all the insight that someone else could provide.

Having said that, the pins seem to be on par with what I've seen and bought in the parks. They have a Mickey icon pin back and 2 markings on the back.

          1. Official Pintrading 2005
          2. Made for Energizer by Disney Parks and Resorts. [copyright symbol]DISNEY MADE IN CHINA

I wear a name badge for my work (I'm a teacher) so I use a lanyard with some pins to hold my badge. I'll probably put these on my lanyard when school starts up again.
