Does anyone know if there have been any pics posted of the Small World rehab work? I'd love to see what the new load area looks like! Being a Disneylander, I was suprised and disapointed with the Magic Kingdom's iasw and its odd indoor load area!

On my first trip to WDW in 1996 after so many trips to Disneyland, I stood in open mouthed horror when we entered it's a small world. I know the color stylings were don by Mary Blair but boy was it....well...ugly!!! Of course I grew to get used to it. I really like the look of the repainted facade. It will brighten it up in there. It is to bad they couldn't add a fancy glass roof ala the Crystal Palace and get some small trees and shrubs planted in there as well.

I'm gonig back to the World at the end of March, so looking forward to seeing this ride in its after rehab look (crossing fingers that they don't delay it). Pictures probably don't do it justice yet, but its the ride I'm most looking forward to in the Magic Kingdom this tiem around due to a promising rehab.

Thank You Kyle! I should have asked sooner! You Rock! Much better than the dated look it had...WDW's small world always seemed like it was missing stuff... At Disneyland every space is used and full of dolls or sets... WDW seemed to have alot op space between dolls and Sets! I love the California facade much better than those strange pictures of kids in ethnic costumes on the walls!

Not sure if I like it
Can I dissent...and say that I liked it better before? Not that it was great before, but it felt more Mary Blair-ish. It's hard to tell from the photo, but it looks like it's a little over-done.
I'm more nervous about what's been done on the inside...--

I was wrong
Okay, now after seeing the photo someone posted, I retract my earlier post. I don't love the new look, but it appears to be better than it was before. I guess I was thinking of the interior of the Tokyo Disneyland Small World, which has more attractive artwork than Disney World used to.--

SW Rehab
I really like it. Too bad they couldn't do it outside, but the way the land is laid out doesn't make it possible. The whole Fantasyland has the renaissance tent feel to it so it is better to be on the inside. Anything is better than the god awful outdated children's photos and the orange sun on the roof.
Can't wait to see it in December. It will be different coming in the exit and leaving through the entrance. Interesting.
Thanks for the great photos.

it would be interesting to have a new theme there and see what they could come up with
are they improving anything else in the WDW small world before it reopens?"We all have sparks, imagination! it's how our minds... create creations!"
