Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade

Anyone know anything about this parade? The only place it's officially acknowledged is the MVMCP website. Even then, there's not much info about it, only that it's an (according to them) "all new" parade debuting this year for the party. Quite odd if you ask me, considering how keen they are to advertise all the other new & old holiday offerings for this year....

Well, the castle being covered in LEDs was featured elsewhere on this and various other forums.The Fairy Godmother takes over the fireworks intro. As for the parade -no idea - but the official pics are still trotting out the marching soldiers. Maybe some new floats?

I would welcome a brand new parade AND ornamental touches at the MK... like, yearly, ala TDL.

Honestly, it's probably the same parade as always with a new name a few new costumes for the characters/dancers and a new float or two.

As much as I disagree with how WDW runs their entertainment department, I wouldn't be so quick to compare them to TDR. TDR is basically doing the exact same thing this year as they did last year for Christmas, and they're recycling pretty much everything in both parks. It just goes to show that even TDR isn't immune to the "WDW syndrome."

Nope from what I have heard almost all brand new floats and new music.

I worked there for 6 years. The parade had 2 name changes, one new "float and 2 new costumes.

The parade is so large and runs for such a small amount of time that WDW can't do a yearly overhaul. For the vast majority of people the parade is entertaining and enjoyable.

WDW seems to be doing what DL has slowly been doing with "A Christmas Fantasy," except WDW is actually changing the name and supposedly debuting new music.

With ACF, it's just been new floats slowly being introduced. Within the past few years, the finale float has been replaced, new costuming has been introduced, and many of the "intro" storybook floats were redone. There's rumors of new additions again this year, but that's yet to be confirmed.

Yes, entertaining and enjoyable - but what if they were extremely entertaining and amazing to watch? What then. Then it would be worth the extra effort in mixing things up, no?

It will all be new to me, since I have never been to Disney World at Christmastime before. I am looking forward to it.
