Re: Hey, Perry Crawley ...
Well, if I could say something nice about DMGM food, I'd say that Hollywood and Vine being open for dinner is a nice touch, as there's not many buffet dinner options on the resort anymore that don't include the premium of live characters.
On the other hand, ABC Comm is terrible. I've never tried Mama's or Sci-Fi or Prime-Time so I can't comment there. Derby is good, though, but for all the hype their Cobb Salad could be better.

Too bad these people don't read WDW1974's posts. Best thing to do is to write to John Lasseter in Emeryville.

I eat very little quick serve in the parks. While on the free dining plan, I did go to Sunshine Seasons - and had a tiny plate with a potato and a small amount of meat, that they'd have charged $7.99 for!
I prefer the Pop food court, Trails End (for sit-down) or nearly any counter service at Downtown Disney.
I don't have a clue where the best alcohol is, I don't drink enough.

Re: Hey, Perry Crawley ...
I have noticed a steady decline in the quick service food all over the resort. I know they are attempting to deal with rising food prices and not have the complaints and such but whoever their meat supplier is... let's just say as far as quick service goes they need a new one baaaddd

Haha, I love all of your 'letters' here WDW'74. I shall read the others tomorrow.Originally posted by WDW1974 View PostAnd tell the bartender at the bar across from the no-backlot Backlot Tour that for $8 he could put some alcohol in the margaritas. If I wanted a slush, I'd head to 7-11.

Hey, Perry Crawley ...
OK, so I'm not your old buddy, but I kinda feel like we know each other since the Disney universe is so inbred ... and since you're the head of Disney-MGM Food and Beverage and I love food, well, it seems like such a perfect match.
I'll start with the good so we can quickly get it out of the way.
One of the ONLY two reasons I have for visiting your park is to dine at the Brown Derby, so clearly you're doing something right at the high end of the Food and Beverage spectrum.
But quick serve? Well, it's a total disaster. Ever had a burger at Rosie's? They're inedible. For the first time in my life and hundreds of visits, I walked into Guest Relations and demanded a refund over the summer because they were so bad and the location was so woefully understaffed that if I had tried to get back to the serving window, a riot would have likely erupted.
Unfortunately, a dear friend of mine was unaware of this and went last week and had a similar experience.
C'mon, this isn't a coconut-crusted salmon served over Israeli couscous in a heirloom tomato compote with broccolini ... it's a freaking cheeseburger. If Wendy's on 535 can make me a tasty fresh one for 99 cents at midnight, why can't Disney do the same for $7? Can you explain that? Is there an explanation other than serving low quality food to meet your projected numbers?
Also, you might want to tell someone they really need to clean the window sills at the ABC Commissary ... not that Bob and Willow would be caught dead dining there (this isn't Michael and Jane, so they won't even fake it), but if they did would you want them to notice all the dead bugs (maybe some live ones too?) that line the length of the windows? Again, don't know (or care) if it's lack of training or what, but if the Cuban sandwich isn't bad enough or the overbattered fish and chips, no one wants a side of dead bugs with their magical Disney meal.
And tell the bartender at the bar across from the no-backlot Backlot Tour that for $8 he could put some alcohol in the margaritas. If I wanted a slush, I'd head to 7-11.
So see if you can work on it, OK? Would you want the local Chow Hound writing about your current offerings?
