Magic Kingdom Reduces December Hours

Just an update, the hours for the Magic Kingdom in December have been reduced dramatically, about ten days in the month had an hour removed from their operating schedule. If you've made plans to visit the parks during late December, take a look at the new calendars.

The hours had previously been posted with closings as late as 5am including EMH.

I saw two days on the schedule where the park closed at 9 pm instead of 10 and one day where it closed at 11 pm instead of 12. the other nights are mickeys christmas party nights so the mk closes at 7. I think there was only one night where the park was going to be open for almost 24 hours and that was around new years eve.

It's not that dramatic of a reduction. I'll bet that the new hours will not affect attendance one little iota.

Personally, I think the 5am closings were a typo or a joke from a CM who is now royally fired.

I don't know - with the EMH, there have been 3am closings recently!

Yeah, late busses running from the parks to the resorts AND from PI around 3am then. Should be a fun mix of guests wandering back to their rooms... :cwink:

I was back there for one of them.. Sunday, October 7th. The park wasn't super busy during the day... my nephew and I were able to get things done.. unfortunately, the next day we were opening the park up with his mom and doing the Halloween park until closing. Kind of hard to keep a 13 year awak that long... we still 24 hours in the Magic Kingdom between Sunday and Monday.

What was REALLY nice was Epcot EM on Friday....Epcot after Illuminations was incredible! It was so uncrowded. Just chilled out in the showcase and finished the night with a bunch of Figment.

I still see no reason for WDW to spend "operation" money on keeping the parks opened so late into the wee hours for the guests who stay on property, especially when most only pay $69-89 per night.

hey theres an idea,,, a frequent staying program. you get points for staying on resort and the more expensive the resort the higher the points... then you can exchange your points for perks on property.... ok i better shut up before someone in management takes me seriously

A lot of guests are paying $300 - $400 per night too! Not so many right now paying only $69, you are getting more into campsite pricing now.

Free dining was last month, I enjoyed it (and I am an AP'er!)

just an fyi the last two times I stayed on property I paid over 300 and that was with an ap.
