Millennium Macdonald's cups

I was going through my mom's hutch tonight and I found those Millennium Macdonald's cups stashed away. remeber the cups that Disney issued durning their Millennium celebration? The cups depicted all four WDW destinations including DAK,EPCOT,Disney-MGM,and the Magic Kingdom. I took them out and let the trip down memory road begin. I remember buying them and thinking these thing are gonna be worth someyhing some day. Well It turns out that MGM studios is now Disney Studios and the MGM cup may be significant. however The cup shows no signs of the original theme park name; It only reads Disney Studio's. Could it be that even I the early 2000's that Disney was considering a name change? Or was the end of the MGM contract closer than we thought.

Good question.
I don't think the cups will ever be worth anything (at least in the near future). I bought mine for $2.00 each at a local flea market.

The second set created for the 100 years of magic is actually more valuable. They also released 100 character toys in the happy meals. Some of us were crazy enough to get them all...:blush:

I still have at least a couple of the 100 Years of Magic glasses. I wish they'd have another set (but for something important, like the Epcot 25th - not for the Years of a Million Dreams).

I won a lanyard and gave it to TDLfan. I don't like constant promotions though. Maybe once every few years, something big - like Epcot turning 25. That was actually big, and they could have given away fastpasses! :-D

I'm drinking out of my MGM 100 Years glass now. I am only seeing the MK one in the cupboard, I probably have broken one or two over the years. I should have bought more.

I have 2 each of the 100 year glasses fom McDonald's. We grew up collecting all ofbthose glasses. I even have The Chipmunk's glasses from the 80's too. I think they are in my mom's house someplace.....

My family has them all.. no one uses them though, they just kind of sit in the cupboard.

we still have our glasses and yes Disney has been working to change the name of MGM for a few years now. Disney Studios merchandise was in the park going back as far as at least 2003. I have a shot glass from that year with the Disney Studios name. When Shrek 3 came out in theaters glasses, very similar to the glasses you found, were released with the principal characters. I have one of each of those. I wonder if McDonalds still has a exclusive agreement. Last I heard there was a problem during negotiations. I wonder if we'll see Disney stuff at Burger King?
