Christmas news from the MK.

Just got my latest copy of the AP newsletter Mickey Monitor... The cover features the nice artwork for this year's castle lights for the holidays.
Inside.. this is what it reveals...

-Most Xmas festivities at WDW will begin on November 12th.
-The new castle light display is called "Castle Dream Lights". there are 200,000 lights in the display.
-New floats and costumes for the Christmas Parade... The Christmas parade floats will be themed to the "Many JOts of Xmas Time", with floats designed around winterwonderland themes, family and friends, Fairy Tale Xmas, Xmas sweets, and North Pole.
-New song written for the parade this year..."Once Upon a Christmastime".
-The "Harlem Gospel Choir" comes to DHS for the season with nightly shows, from Nov 30th thru Dec 25th.
-New Candlelight hosts this year..Dennis Franz, Monique Coleman, Isabella Rossellini, plus old time favs like Rita Moreno and Neil Patrick Harris (go! sisterhood, go!) I know what nights I will be there..
-New spanish speaking version of Candlelight Processional with Edwars James Olmos. Can we make spanish the official language of the USA please? I mean.. c'mon!
-Nothing new at DAK, but the same old Jamming jungle parade in it's holiday version.

Ditto. Does anyone know when they are filming the parade? Is it the same dates as last year? I would love to go out again, I had the best time.

Besides, if the cast of High School Musical is there I can be the "bestest" mommy EVER! :lol:

Most of it has nothing to do with the MK. The parade does, and the Christmas parade is shown for the MVMCP. I believe also the parade is shown during Christmas week regularly?

Yes, and if they continue to do the Christmas fireworks (modified) and the 'Twas the Night Before Christmas show in the Tomorrowland theater those would be... until the week of Christmas.

Nothing has ever been exclusive to the party. Everything they do at the party is available to regular guests after the last party ends.. even the leftover party-exclusive pins are sold off to regular guests. The only thing they won't do for regular guests during regular hours is giving away free cookies and cocoa. As for the lights... I believe it will be a nightly thing. And if Disney played their cards correctly, they would do an Illumination ceremony for day guests on days when the party is not held... including the snow fall over Main Street as an added ceremony treat. I can only hope. HKDL did this last year for Xmas, so..why not the MK?

It looks like it is November 30th.
If you miss the cast of HSM, you can always catch Monique Coleman at the Candlelight Processional December 5-7.

I found this part funny: Passholders can save $10 off the day-of purchase price-if you order in advance. So instead of $51 you pay $40. I think if they really wanted to be inticing for passholders they would give you $10 the normal advanced ticket price $33 instead of $43. It is pricey no matter how you look at it.

That kind of sucks. You can see more Christmas stuff at MK, only if you go during the busiest time of year?

You know... you will be fighting crowds as well during the party because Disney is now selling many many many more tickets per night than in previous years... and not only for the MVMCP but also for MNSSHP. Just ask Fishbulb and Dustysage...
Some day guests are also crashing the party's outdoor events because there is no park shutdown between the regular hours and party time..as it used to be the case a few years ago. Look closely and you will see some guests not wearing the required wristband.

Kind of like the Halloween party at DCA. They are really overbooking these events.

Just like the airlines overbook flights all the time. Problem is...these parties do not have the 15% no show factor the airlines bank on when they overbook.

And no, I don't think it is a good thing. If we go to any park during Christmas time it is to Epcot. And that is only in the beginning of December.

I emailed Lightship for tickets because they handled the production last year but I haven't heard back yet (its only been 10 minutes) As the email address I got wasn't a direct email for tickets, I'll let everyone know once I learn more regarding how to obtain them if I get an answer.

the tickets for friday are for APers. that is the day they do the entertainment. last year they had dvc members on friday and apers on saturday, bet they reveersed it this year. our tickets for friday were ordered this afternoon so we are all set. oh and another side note, If you show up at MK at 3 pm on saturday dec 1, you will have a really good chance of seeing the christmas parade without paying for the party. that is if they follow what they have done in years past. and summer's list is for all performers, that includes DL as well as WDW.
