I'll get some pics up here also in a bit, I'm really sleepy and need a quick nap. I just wanted to make sure I linked this article from my site!

It's nice to see that Yak & Yeti is so close to completion. When we saw it during Invasion2, I thought it looked like it was months from completion. I'm sad to know that we missed it by only a few weeks!

Last week, I thought it was months away too. But they are cooking (it smelled sooo good) and the manager said that the opening date has not yet been changed - but that you never know with construction. It is definitely not months away!

I'll get a few pics up here shortly too.

Yak and Yeti is at Animal Kingdom.

Here are some pics from today. A few of them will go on the AK photo walk I'm working on:

Sadly, it looks ready on the outside, but they still have a lot to do on the inside. Also, don't forget about training the staff. It should be open by Christmas though....

I just deleted what I previously wrote - I'll just say that it doesn't feel like it's going to be that late. It could be, it's construction. But the manager I spoke with and 2 CM's (the latter have been inside) felt it was going to open on time.

It may not be next week, I would just be surprised if it was as late as Christmas. The signs are now up, and it smells ready anyway! I am not an insider, so I don't have intimate knowledge of what is going on inside. But the outside is light years from where it was one week ago. I'm looking forward to Yak and Yeti whenever it opens.

It is due to open mid next week.

Sorry, I didn't realize that you posted the opening date already Denise.

                    Hi!

That is absolutely no problem! I had posted yesterday in my update that the word at AK was still 11/14. But as all construction projects, delays can happen. I take it as a good sign that DRC now has the information. I'm looking forward to visiting Yak and Yeti next week! I definitely didn't get a "delay" feeling yesterday, with the food cooking and CM's still giving the 11/14 date (and the big thing to me was that the signs were now up outside).

Last week you couldn't have gotten me to believe it would open so soon.

It will be nice to have something other than the Rainforest if you want to sit down. Now we have this and the Tusker House.

I still love the Flame Tree though

Wow, it will be great to finally have a nice, sit-down restaurant in addition to the Rainforest Cafe. Animal Kingdom has been lacking in eateries, and with more places to eat and serve dinner meals, the park can stay open later (another part of the grand plan of expanding AK's hours is complete).

I have a feeling that the DDE at the counter service locations is nearing the end at AK. Normally the DDE isn't available at counter service when a table service restaurant is available. One exception to this is the food court at POR.
