Spaceship Earth the attraction isn't going anywhere, but this coming Monday Epcot will hold a private event (which I have been invited to) where Imagineering will transform the the iconic golf ball into the Death Star using digital projection.

    More here: https://www.cnet.com/news/disney-dea...-epcot-center/

How would you feel about future Star Wars events such as Star Wars Weekends being held at Epcot while DHS is under construction?

Would it be a good idea, allowing guests to enjoy more at a full park during the events? Or would it be a bad idea, drawing attendence away from DHS which is suffering from closures and construction?

I doubt they are going to bring back Star Wars Weekends since they want people to think of WDW and DHS specifically as a place that always has Star Wars, not just on some special weekends.

I can live with it just being a projection, which can be turned off anytime they wish. I'm assuming this is just for shows or something, and short term. Did I miss anything in the article that said otherwise?

I love Star Wars BUT there comes a time when you have to leave the classics alone and SE is a classic ride! Stop it I say!!

What exactly was this private event about?

i think moving SW weekends to Epcot would be a terrible idea especially when all the SW attractions are in one park.

This is amazing! I hope they do this again, maybe for a limited time (say next week when Rogue One opens?)
