  • Port Orleans distance

We are booked at Port Orleans Riverside April 3-7 and my brother-in-law's family has decided to join us on the trip. Looks like things are getting pretty booked up as Riverside is full and they ended up booking at the French Quarter. We cannot change to the French Quarter as we have 5 people and need the trundle bed.

How far of a hike is it going to be between our rooms, are all of the pools shared between the two resorts, and would we be able to park at each other's building?

With so much time before the trip what is the easiest way to try and get there reservation changed if a room should open up at Riverside? Just calling every week, checking on-line, etc.?

    Thanks for any info,

    Skawt

I have photos of the walk between the two resorts here:

But just food court to food court, you are looking at around 10 - 12 minutes (at a 3mph pace). You can use either pool, you can go to either food court, everything is shared.

Normally, if I am checking for something - I do it online since it's easier before calling (then I call right away). Usually it works, anyway! But the resorts are close.

Oh - and you can drive over and meet them at their resort, that isn't a problem.

You may be a 15 minute or more walk between rooms, it's hard to tell (depending on where you are situated).

Until you know what buildings your rooms are going to be in (which won't happen until you check in), it could be a 10-15 minute walk between the two.

Well, correct me if I am wrong, aren't the rooms with the trundle beds all located in the Alligator Bayou section?
That is the section that is farther away from the French QUarter, so it will more than likely be a longer walk

That is why I said at least a 15 minute walk. Alligator Bayou is farther. There are some rooms at the POR and POF that can be very close, maybe a 5 - 7 minute walk. But it can be 15+ minutes as well.

There's 2 sections of Port Orleans Riverside... Magnolia Bend & Alligator Bayou. The latter is further away.

In my opinion, it's probably better to stay at French Quarter than Riverside. In many instances, the shuttle service picks up from both French Quarter AND Riverside but it stops at French Quarter first. Many times it fills up completely at French Quarters and there's no room for Riverside guests... which means they'll have to wait for the next one.

Hopefully we will be able to get them in to Riverside then so that we will be closer, lots of time to see if something opens up. As for transportation we will have cars and unless we are going to MK it is often simpler just to drive ourselves.
