  • I am a little confused about the extra magic hours

We leave Thursday and I am printing up our final itinerary and I realize that I am a little confused about the extra magic hours.

It shows the normal hours on the calendar for that day and says extra magic hours and I was able to figure out if it was morning or evening. Then I get confused. It says it opens an hour early, easy enough, and may stay open up to 3 hours late for evening extra hours. How do I know how long the park is open in the evening?

We are going to Epcot on Friday and it is evening extra hours. What time will they close?

Thank you in advance for your help!!!

Assuming that you are staying at a WDW hotel in order to take advantage of the Extra Magic Hours, I recall there being something in the packet that they give to you when you check-in that has the exact EMH schedule.

Yah, you will get a hand out with all of the normal opening and closing hours as well as all the various extra morning and evening closings.

If EPCOT has extra evenings, my guess is that it will close at midnight.

OK - maybe I can help you figure out how long parks stay open. You can check the Walt Disney World site and find the calendar at the upper right hand corner. Then click on the "extra magic hours" link on any day. You'll find a list of the Extra Magic Hours days!
If it says evening extra magic hours on a certain day, then add 3 hours to the regular closing time on that day.
If it says morning extra magic hours on a certain day, then add 1 hour to the opening time on that day.
I hope that helps, and I hope that was what your question was!

Even though Disney's schedule says that evening EMH is up to 3 hours later, in actually it's always 3 hours later. So as WDWGirl said, just add 3 hours to the posted closing time.
