Well, I was surprised to see the new snowman Christmas commercial recently and apparently at WDW we now have Indy and Haunted Mansion Holiday. Wow, when did they find the time to build these? Okay, enough sarcasm. This is a multi-billion dollar corporation and apparently they are too cheap to create a commercial just for WDW. How lazy is the marketing department? Oh yeah I forgot we are having the same lame *** celebration for a second year in a row. What a joke.

Sadly, I don't think the average Disney guest will know the difference.

it is the same commercial as last year and unfortunately most of it was shot in california. I wish they would have done a new commercial this year but we know how disney marketing and mr rasulo love to pinch those pennies.

They're either cheap, or just IDIOTS. Seriously how hard is it to go to their library of "B roll" footage and plug it in with Florida stuff? Could it be that the people actually making these promos not know what's in what resort?
or perhaps too cheap to fix.
As BigPigletFan said, it's not great for guest relations to deal with really disappointed guests when they go thinking that something is there when it's really not. Remember how upset Floridans got when WDW opened in 1971 without Pirates? EVERYONE went thinking that they were gonna ride Pirates of the Caribbean.

Personally I find it downright unlawful (as in "false advertisement") to even attempt to misrepresent the MK with footage, sound and music, that is associated with the MK's better quality-minded sister parks.

Re: WDW Christmas commercial not at WDW
Is it really that hard to cut those parts out and get some actual footage? IT is basically false advertising on Disney World's part.
I blame this on WDW management and the YOAMD. This global structure that has come along with Rasulo's DisneyParks has brought about this same-commercial-for-every-park-trend.
Disney can be very cheap.

ORDDU: It would seem to a coven of witches that, technically speaking, Disney could get into trouble and perhaps even be sued for such false advertising. Other products and services out there certainly have to be held accountable for any false claims. Why shouldn't Disney?
ORGOCH : Yeah, I can just see it now. We send big ol' Orwen inta Pest Relations at City Hall an' she starts whinin' all over the place 'bout how she flew in on a broomstick all the way from Morva, only ta be confused 'n upset over the fact there ain't really no Nemo subs fer her ta cram her big fat butt inta. That's a scene I'd just LOVE ta see!!

Re: WDW Christmas commercial not at WDW
TDLFAN said it right, above. These spots are not directly created by Disney, but by thier ad agency. Picture a producer and an editor in an edit suite, and a box of video that someone gave them. The box of tapes SAYS Disney World on it, so how are they to know the difference? And then, once the spot is created, it goes to approval by Disney bigwigs who have no more personal knowledge than the producer and editor do. So the spot makes it all the way to air, and some of us cranky online geeks notice that there's a shot in the WDW spot that's actually from DL. Do they start the process over again, spending literlly 10s of thousands of dollars (maybe even hundereds of thousands in tape duplication and distribution costs) to keep us geeks happy? Nope.
It's sad that this happens. But until one of us gets into a high position within the company (or commercials are all approved by John Lasseter!), this kinda thing is always going to happen. And I totally agree with imagineerthat - Walt doing his opening day speech superimposed over a Main Street that wouldn't be invented for another 15 years was just so wrong!

Re: WDW Christmas commercial not at WDW
I thought all the holiday advertising was "Disney Parks" and not Land vs. World specific. I realize that doesn't make it right but it does give Disney an opportuinty to run a national media campaign over a regional one. It all depends on what markets / shows and timeslots they wish to advertise, some will only allow a national ad on all outlets, so if they ran a Disneyland (or world) only it would play nationally which would be worse IMO.
I do think they should create regional ads to be played when regional media spots are offered, and the fact that I don't believe they do could mean they are cheap...but I don't know how much regional vs. national media they run...it honestly may not be cost effective do to so.
Either way I hate seeing Cindy's castle in my Disneyland ads!
A little piece of heaven
