  • Since U can make ride reservations 60 days out, why [email protected] ho[email protected]?

Seeking help from Walt Disney World black belts here.

Unless I'm reading this incorrectly, it sounds like we can now stay at hotels in Walt Disney World that are not owned by Disney
and still make Fastpass attractions reservations 60 days out.

How long do Good Neighbor Hotels have to wait till they can make restaurant reservations?

Below is from the page of the Holiday Inn near Disney Springs:
Welcome to Holiday Inn Orlando-Disney Springs® Area

NEW! Guests now have access to Disney FastPass+ service and Disney’s Extra Magic Hours benefit!

Each guest staying at Holiday Inn Orlando – Disney Springs® Area through 2020 with valid Walt Disney World theme park admission will have access to the Walt Disney World theme park Extra Magic Hoursbenefit*, as well as the opportunity to make FastPass+* selections up to 60-days in advance of their stay. These benefits are an extension of the existing benefits guests of Holiday Inn have received throughout 2019.

By enrolling in the MyDisneyExperience app, you can now reserve some Disney FastPass+ attractions, shows and more – up to 60 days before you arrive! Plus, you can modify Disney FastPass+ plans on the go, on your mobile device or at in-Park kiosks. Best of all, this limited benefit is included with valid Theme Park admission – at no charge.

I just called the Holiday Inn and was told that yes, the Good Neighbor hotel customers now have the same ability to reserve rides as WDW-owned hotel guests,
    BUT
you can't make restaurant reservations 6 months in advance, and
you can't take the free Magical Express bus from the airport,

and paying for a bus would be $24 per person each way. So it'd probably be better to take Uber of Lyft.

also, what about having purchases sent to your resort? don't you have to be at a Disney resort for that?

This does seem like it would be a game changer to a lot of people. We go so infrequently that the advance dining reservations are important to us. We usually have a few special restaurants that we don't want to miss. But for people who have already tried all the "must do" restaurants, seems like off-site could be a very real option. Also, the on-site hotels AND the restaurants are getting pretty mixed reviews lately, so off-site looks more and more attractive.

What they said about dining reservations is not entirely correct. Anyone can make a dining reservation 180 days in advance. The advantage you get when staying at a Disney hotel is that you can make the reservation 180+10 days out meaning you can reserve dining for your hold trip at the 180 days mark, whereas off site guests would have to do it one day at a time.

The 60 day Fastpass window is a new perk for good neighbor hotels, but there are other perks that you may or may not get. For example you may not have access to Magic Express, free magic bands, extra magic hours, room charging, package delivery, etc. They also may not have transportation that leaves are regularly for all destinations as you might get from a Disney hotel.
