  • Walkway from MK to Grand Floridian now open!

    According to the Disney Food Blog (from 9:28 through about 10:12 in the link at the bottom of this post), the walkway from the Grand Floridan to the Magic Kingdom is now open.

    The narrator, AJ, said that the walkway will close early each evening, but didn't give any details about the time.
    She said the walk was about a mile. Also (as before) one can walk from the Grand Floridian to the Polynesian and from there to the Transportation & Ticket Center.

    So healthy hikers could now walk from the TTC to the Contemporary. Would that be about 2.5 miles?

    Now I'd (please) like walkways (with bridges & elevators) from the Wilderness Lodge to the Contemporary.

    AND from the Wilderness Lodge directly to the TTC!

    And Port Orleans to EPCOT!

    And the Animal Kingdom Lodge to the Animal Kingdom.

    Guests who choose to walk even more could return from a WDW a pound or two lighter.

    Years ago, after sedentary & husky Walt Disney World guests were made fun of on SNL, South Park, and Family Guy;
    I proposed that WDW become the bike capital of America with bikes easy to pick up & drop off at resorts, with almost everything connected by bike paths with rain shelters (& restrictions) during summer thunder storms. Rescue vans & busses would be good too. Imagine returning from a WDW holiday energized & in better than when you left.
