I can confirm that the "big guy" you speak of is leaving WDI. Read my article:

Where did you hear this about Celebration closing? We broke the story over at Troops, but only heard of the resignation and potential layoffs.

Well..it may be that WDI could go through what many corporate divisions do. They shrink from a bloated management heavy dinosaur into a more 21st century design studio with more consultants. It's more likely that the management will vote themselves a desk and another team jacket, then dump the last remaining talent that can actually design things.

Can't wait 'till they make Disneyland Antarctica where there is only one land with 2 rides. Or they make Disney's Corporate Adventure themed to a giant appartment...

I saw this coming for quite a while since they've been duplicating and replacing, not adding attactions (i.e. Soarin', Stitch's Not-so-great Escape).

So much for getting a job with WDI.

I heard it mostly has to due with the negative guest comments on Stitch's Lame Escape.

I know it's not, but there's no point working for them if 'upper' management limits their abilities to imagineer.

WDI has layoffs after projects end. I don't know about any big guys, but if there isn't much in the pipeline, they lose people like any production company. HKDL is winding down I'd imagine so sure, they'll lose some folks.
