    New look for Disneyworld.com

As the title states, Disneyworld.com is sporting a new look, which to me is similar to DLRP's website, which categorizes the attractions, entertainment, dining and shopping in a Flash animation.

IMO, I like the new layout, but the content still needs to be fixed, as WoL attractions are still listed under Epcot's attractions. Also, DHS is also listed, and since MGM is not changing its name for another month, it may seem confusing to people.

        Re: New look for Disneyworld.com

Thanks for the heads up. I visit the site regularly to check things out. They must have just changed this in the last day or so, because I don't remember the changes being in effect yesterday.

In this case, change is for the better, I think.

If it loads slow, you may want to use the Low bandwidth site.

I've only had a chance to look at the updated site briefly, but it looks good so far.

One problem... I tried entering the AP section, but my info did not carry over to the new site. I entered my info again, but kept getting an error message regarding the card number.

                Anyone else have this problem?

And I'm still annoyed by their site. It's way too cluttered with visual stuff, that while pretty takes away from the actual important content of the site. Its still way too hard to navigate and find anything of any worth on that site. Their web designers should get out of graphic school and take a few classes covering content and web navigation.

I agree, and told them almost the same thing when I participated in a survey about their site yesterday morning.

The best thing I ever learned back in my web design days was by reading a book called "Web Pages That Suck" It taught good design by showing bad. If that were still around today I'm certain that Disney's site would be high on that list. His entire premise was that content was king and unless you were an artist or running a personal site people didn't come there for your snazzy graphics, they came there to learn information. Let your content drive people to your site, not the other way around. Disney's sites have always been the antithesis to this design style.

Looks like the site I used to study from is still around. Someone should e-mail them a link.
