  • Holiday Wishes worth seeing?

I'll be heading out to WDW soon. Is Holiday Wishes at Magic Kingdom a must-see? How does it compare to Believe In Holiday Magic at Disneyland? I'm looking for feedback from people who have seen both shows in CA and FL. My friend insists that we see Wishes. Is it really a better show?

I personally prefer Believe because Holiday Wishes is just too long for what it is, its slow and is sometimes kinda boring unlike Disneyland's fast pace show. But fireworks at ANY Disney park is worth staying for. They did however take a few few effects from Disneyland's Believe, so you will see some similarities between the shows.

You can't compare the two because they are totally different.

As mentioned, any show is worth seeing at least once.

I certainly think it's worth seeing (at least once).

I saw both shows and I think the Believe show at Disneyland is far superior. Both shows are supposed to be themed to Christmas... or the "holidays". However, Disneyland is the only one that successfully conveys the Christmas "feel". While DL uses mostly traditional and well-known Christmas songs in their show, WDW relies mostly on unknown original scores that aren't catchy. I find that the DL version has one nicely composed original score that the show centers on, but doesn't spend a lot of time on... which is good.

Also, DL's execution of special effects fireworks emphasizes the music amazingly well. WDW's Wishes uses the same effects, but they seemed more random.

As the other posters have mentioned, though, definitely see the show at least once so you can make your own comparisons.

This question reminds of the many times we compare DL's Fantasmic! to MGM's Fantasmic! Same answer apply: See it anyways. It may not be as good as DL's believe but the MK's Xmas Wishes is nice enough. One hint: watch the show from the very center of Main Street so you can get the full 'castle turs into Xmas tree' (complete with star topper) effect during the "Oh Christmas Tree!!!" song.

I can safely tell you this much: The only Disney park where it's OK to skip ANY of their fireworks shows is... drum roll... TDL. They are 'Fantasy in the Sky' bland!

Yeah, that and the show is only 3 minutes long. I was honestly expecting more when I saw it. It is TDL after all!

I just returned from a trip to WDW and go to Disneyland often. Must say, catch the firework show, it is a good show. Can not be compared to Disneyland, however it stands on its own. We were there on Monday, December 3 and were able to walk right to the middle of Main Street a couple minutes before it started. It's nice that there is much more room at WDW then Disneyland that you can have a more comfortable environment to watch the show. (I know it may have just been the time of year). I was surprised that there was no snow after the fireworks at WDW, it would have helped wrap up the ending much better. I guess they saved the snow for the Osborne Christmas lights at MGM.

I just saw Holiday Believe this week, and I think it is much superior to Holiday Wishes.

Maybe it's the music. Maybe the pyro. I dunno ... it just feels like the perfect Christmas fireworks show.

Wishes is good too, but it's more like a 7 when Believe is a 9.5.

It's actually 5 minutes long, but I agree that it is a disappointment compared to the fireworks spectaculars at other Disney parks.
