  • Disney Vacation Planning Videos - When did they start?

I have several free Disney vacation planning videos, but does anyone know when they started? The earliest I have is 95, but I have heard others say that they were around in the late 70s. Is this true? It seems unlikely given that most people did not own a vcr, and tapes would have been too expensive for Disney to hand them out free. Any takers?

Sorry I can't give an exact answer to when they started, but they have been around since at least 1991 (when they had "A Day at the Magic Kingdom" and "A Day at Epcot Center").

I remember buying one in the Disney Store for about $10 around 1989-1990, when Typhoon Lagoon and MGM Studios were new. Don't know if you want to include this though or if you're only counting the free ones.

I must admit, I made a stupid decision to BUY a Disneyland DVD vacation guide at the Disneyland park a few years ago for $20.00. I never realized that I could have called a number to get it free until just recently. What a rip. LOL

I have a Magic Kingdom Club Update '93 video (Be Our Guest) from back when you could actually say "Disney" and "free" in the same sentence. (Dang, I miss the MKC :gladsad: ). I also have a Disneyland Vacation Planner from the same year.
