  • Quick Question??? [car rental at the parks]

I need a vehicle for a day while I am at the parks in a couple weeks, is there any car rental places on property?
He felt like his life was some kind of dream and he sometimes wondered whose it was and whether they were enjoying it.

Yes there are, and you can make arrangements with the guest service desk at the resort you are staying at.

To add to that last time we did that they delivered and picked up the car right at the resort. Its more expensive per day than the airport rentals but if you only need it for one day it's cheaper in the long run.

I do know there is one by the Car Care Center on property. I just can't recall what company it was.

                      Good morning, son

Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
                      It was pain

                        Re: Quick Question???

It's actually not more expensive than renting it at the airport. We saved $1,000 by taking the Magical Express to the resort, renting a minivan at Alamo at the Car Care Center and returning it at MCO ten days later over renting it (and returning it) at the airport.

We were surprised, but it was way less hassle for us and ended up saving us a LOT of money.

The employees at Alamo aren't the friendliest by any means, but it all worked out.

                            Re: Quick Question???

I go to Orlando for work quite a bit. Very often I will extend my trip with a vacation day or two and go to WDW.

Since work is not going to pay for extra days on the rental car, I rent at the airport and return it at the Swan.

I use National, and I have never had a difference in daily cost or a charge to return it at the Swan. The only problem is that I can't seem to book an intenerary like that on line. I have to book a MCO to MCO rental, and then call and have the return desitination changed to the Swan.

I'm confused. Was your stay longer than 10 days, or was the rate so much cheaper onsite?

You probably have a better chance at actually getting a car faster at the CCC too. Last time I used Alamo at MCO we had to wait in line outside in the heat for 3 hours to get a car that was reserved for us... That was on our honeymoon about 11 years back but that experience turned me off to them altogether. I used to use them exclusively when I traveled to Orlando and never had that problem before but from what I heard afterwards that was the norm then for the weekend... Maybe they have gotten better but with so many options you only get one major screw-up with me when its my time and money.

Our stay was ten days. But, we priced picking it up and dropping it off at MCO and picking it up at WDW/dropping it off at MCO. Picking it up on property and returning it to the airport (for the same duration) was $1,000 cheaper.

So, we just took the Magical Express and got the car on property. That saved us from hassling with our bags and a boat load of cash.

We'll probably do that from now on too.

They have gotten a lot better than that. They now have a desk in the terminal, and my waits have never been more than 5 or 10 minutes.

And halltd, while I haven't priced out rates at the WDW car rental sites, I'm having a hard time believing that the rates are consistently $100 per day lower than at the airport. I'm betting that you managed to hook on to a super great rate on your rental that one time. I'm sure going to look at it closely on my next visit, though!
